That sit in defensive really hurts us as we cant get behind.

We should take credit that Burnley set up so defensive

People say what they post is being "realistic" but can you really be realistic as a football fan?

Maybe I'm old school but i think there is no better team in the world than Sunderland AFC. There's a game my grandson has with me where he says "who's better?" and says a load of teams. He can say Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Man U even the mags but I'm my mind there's no team better than the one I love and yes I know I'm wrong but Sunderland is MY TEAM and there is no one better

It was nearly there, we looked comfortable but when they sat back we laboured.

I suspect its the problem of playing a team that come up with us. Premier league teams are expected to go after us as they are above us, Leeds and Burnley are expected to fight against us.

Thinking we needed a le Lee in midfield more than a Diarra

Mayenda was the moment. We score I think we win. Doesn’t matter the opposition, at this level you miss those you leave yourself to be punished and we were

Very true, its a different game if that goes in. Then again its a different game if ballard doesnt go off.

Tiny margins and today highlighted it

So it looks like we're good on the counter attack but when we have to break teams down, we're lacking a bit of creativity.

We've just returned to the league and have recruited to be a team that plays on the counter. That's sensible. Most teams will not let us have the ball like Burnley did today. Reg and Speakman will have to find a solution to that as we go forward but at the moment, it's not a massive problem.

Im not sure its a huge problem, maybe bit more movement up front, possibly less legs In midfield and more skill.

Maybe a bit of luck as well

We need to move the ball quicker but that will come I think today exposed the lack of a goal scorer. Mayenda and Wilson score good goals but consistently miss the easy ones Neither has that selfish killer instinct. Guiu might be that player but would love someone who takes responsibility in the box only one thing on their mind to score.

I support Sunderland but can still say when we are ****.

We weren't at the races today.

    We were poor overall.

Dust ourselves off and go and 17th is an achievement

They both seem to revel in the quick shot, bot think about it, maybe Guiu is the fox in a box we might well need.

So can I. For me, I didn't think we put the same effort in as we did last weekend.

    We didn't.

We played a relegation rival and didn't live up to our standards.

If you agree we played **** there's no need to act the goat with others imo.

Have a drink and forget about it.

I thought we were doing fine up to half time, went to pieces second half and the subs were all too predictable , poor showing out wide first half and subbing with ElF and Roberts was suicidal, and I have to say also predictable, I doubt there will be any coaching awards this week, thank heavens for small mercies. Already had quite a few while the game was on. I can tell when we don't play well - it's why I get pissed off.

Don’t for a second agree that we didn’t put effort in like last week

    it was a different game

Burnley forced us to have nearly 60% possession and that’s not how we want to play so lessons to be learned

    we move on

Yeah didn't show up 2nd half.

Missed out chances 1st half and ran out of ideas imo. Thought all 3 in midfield were poor.

    Onto next week

Don’t think we were that poor to be honest. We lost so obviously not great. I just think the manner of the game exposed our current weaknesses We are building a good team and will take a few weeks to work things out on the pitch we have built at the back and midfield. But are seriously lacking at the top end where it matters I can see the team improving week on week but the lack of a ruthless forward who can create something out of nothing will hurt us. Mayenda and or Talbi score early on and it’s a different game.

We’ve built a hard working counter attacking team, we need a winger who can score from nothing in games like that
