I was thinking it anyway. Now I'm 100% sure. We won't have time to properly replace him. He's clearly not kicking off, selling to West Ham would send out a terrible message.
We are missing an Edozie. We have zero pace and zero threat. Everything is on JRob and that will just burn him out.
But Armstrong, Archer and Stewart have scored loads in this division. We want a young, tall and fast ST to develop and hopefully be able to play in the PL.
They have but that was before their confidence and football ability was torn to ****. You can’t just ignore that. You’re quite clearly ignoring my main point which is why go for the risk in the first place when there are probably other strikers to gamble on instead that are used to the Championship.
This. Striker isn't what we need. We need creativity through the middle and wide, which is why we're clearly trying to sign creativity through the middle and wide...
Seems weird to me that we are seemingly after both Azaz and Spertsyan. I think the club feel there is a decent chance Fernandes leaves
If a truly big team (like Athletico Madrid who were rumoured to be keeping tabs) come in and meet the valuation I'm not so sure you could keep him...
Can't believe people can't see this. Armstrong, Downes and Stewart were not in the game today apart from the odd cross. That isn't because all 3 of them are awful. It is pretty obvious what we need.
I agree with you, I think we need better attacking creators. I also think we need better centre backs, better wingers and better strikers. But I think it’s more of a statement of consistently poor recruitment over a number of years. Tbh there’s not much of the team I do like other than the midfield.
Adarma up front on his own doesn't work, we all know this from bitter experience. Like i've said before, we have the players to play a back four and have a focal point in attack but we never start matches that way, At home i'd like to see us take the initiative and try to score first if possible, the odds that you can win games from constantly going behind are not good. Let's play to our strengths and give the oppo more problems defensively from the start.
"I don't think there's any over-reaction, we all knew the Saints shortcomings and the last two wins were just papering over the cracks. Who did we sign to enhance our attacking threat? D.Downs who even though he was on the pitch was hardly involved in the game at all!" That was my original post - no mention of our manager in fact I've never posted any judgement on our manager. D.Downs being quoted in the same breath as Ali Dia - well that's hardly the case is it? I think it might be you that is over-reacting? I don't feel I'm being negative at all, neither am I a happy clapper "all is well in the world and I believe that SR are the right owners for the club" but nor am I a Doomsday merchant that only runs down the players and the club. A sense of balance is required.
The thing about Still is that he will go away and study the game, see where we and he can improve and will make changes unlike Mr my way or nothing Martin. So that does reassure me somewhat.
D. Downs was getting into positions but got no service at all, he hardly touched the ball because no one seemed to see him or willing to pass to him, I think he will come good.
