Yeah I was gonna say that. True test is once the fixtures come thick and fast and the injuries get even worse (which they probably will)

Yep. We only kept a handful of them and only two consecutively on one occasion.
The 2-0 at Brentford, ironically, followed by beating Man Utd 1-0 at home, both in February.

Also when the opposition managers have sussed out how we will play and here Frank's flexibility might be our ace.

Yeah once the CL midweek fixtures turn up squad depth will start to get found out I’m afraid but still we seem very solid compared to last seasons outfit

My thoughts exactly. You could argue on the first few games that TF has set up the team in only two different styles, but I think there are some more subtle differences - either in personnel or the specific role that he expects from different players.
That is the complete opposite of Ange and will not make it as easy for oppos to work us out.

Having said that...we all did get very excited up to that notorious Chav encounter...<yikes>

Well deserved, he covered every inch of the turf today and was unlucky not to get a goal if only johnson had played him in

Just hope this start (albeit only two games) doesn’t give anyone at the club any ideas that they still don’t need another 2-3 experienced players by the end of the window.

On the subject of making things up...
The lino happily called offside for the Johnson goal despite it being pretty clearly onside, although very much 'too close to call'.
It wasn't just the ref who had a stinker.

Got desperately asked to go into work about an hour before KO so missed the game.

Blinding result though, albeit not a surprise, we really are their bogey team.

Glad to see Palhinha on the scoresheet, was a big fan of his signing and I think he’s going to bring that Wanyama-esque steel to the side and also the occasional goal (and probably red card <laugh>).

For the first time in a good few years though I really feel like we’ve hired the perfect manager, we’ve had greats in Jose and Conte who just weren’t the right fit and we had Ange who was there for the vibes but perhaps not ideal on the tactical side of things, but Frank seems the type who can both coach players and switch things up when need be by being both adventurous and pragmatic. Please, for the love of god, Levy, back this man to the hilt, we could be onto a Poch 2.0 or even better!

Midfield outstanding and it’s a Thomas Frank masterclass there. A thoroughly, thoroughly deserved win.

City seem to have forgotten what Haalands strengths are.

I think what’s interesting is that we’ve seen two blueprints now from Frank for playing against the elite, ball dominant teams. Today was very different than PSG - though given just how good Rodri is, I wonder if we might have not tried to dominate the midfield in the way we did if he had been a clear starter today.

Firmly in the ‘give Frank what he wants’ camp now.

He probably made their best pass of the match, funnily enough.
I expect he'd have finished it if he was on the receiving end.
    The old Harry Kane conundrum.

his strengths are to put it on a plate for him and let him apply a finish

I believe he is their Achilles heel

    offers nothing upfront imo

    He’s no Kane

That’s what they need to bring all their midfield magic together

    Haaland doesn’t have the IQ

    called it years ago

The basic judgement criteria for a WC striker IMHO are :

    1. High % conversion rate (for chances put to you on a plate)

    2. Scoring loadsa goals even when your team overall is meh

    3. Consistently scoring goals against opposition teams equal/superior to yours

    and then :

    4. creating good chances for team-mates
