Thought McCarthy came out of his shell a bit later on and did some good stuff. Shown the technical ability is there. Just short physically and lacking a bit of nous. Probably better getting some minutes coming on in a DM position right now. Don't think we really had any other option with what was available.
'He hasn't actually done a whole lot for us' suggests you are yet to be impressed. Whereas, I have, offensively and defensively. Kamara wasn't mentioned and I don't wish to go there (although I imagine this bugbear has not gone away and probably sparked the original response).
We might need to be thankful it wasn't 5)6 nil . And to pull out of a tackle like that for the third goal is embarrassing
Ok so I didn't say it, thanks for clarifying! Perhaps we can move on. And I did actually mention Kamara: Perhaps you mixed him up with your "Surprised people would put him ahead of Akintola" memory. But let's leave it there as you seem very wound up over a simple criticism of Ndala's performance today, which was echoed by others.
3 big saves from their keeps at nil nil....another day who knows. Nothing we can do about squad depth now, players to come back and 43 games left to sort it out!
I hope they were all ill or that was seriously worrying. We need someone to partner Lundstram, Slater in a holding role is like starting with 10 these days.
We were poor from the start. We had a little spell after they nearly put one in their own net but that was as good as it got.
Christ man, let it go. Yes, Belloumi on one side, and four options on the other, and to suggest he's clearly better after two displays is getting carried away. Move on.
Stupid booking for McB, second booking in 3 games, both stupid & pointless, it’s going to cost us down the line!
We weren't great today, we had a 5 min spell but we're poor enough from the off. McCarthy looked and players nervously, our flair players were just a bit off and thought bburn got their tactics spot on, immediately setting up to man mark our CBS and lundstram when we had the ball deep, happy for Pandur to have it not letting us play out with long diagonals
I was thinking about this and wonder if the same criticism gets levelled at players taking their shirts off when scoring or celebrating with the crowd. We never get so critical then. This one was much more needless than the Cov one, but no idea what prompted it.
Sat in Walton Street. First half we had some decent chances but often made the wrong final pass, or passed instead of shooting ala Lundstram. Second half we completely ran out of energy. I can only hope the news of illness in the camp was the main reason. I felt sorry for McCarthy as he was a bit out of his depth at cb in a back 2. Ideally he should have played in front of the defence as a shield but injuries forced the managers hand.
