Can’t remember if he was one of the 2 that had to come off because of head injuries, but neither were even checked over, just sent to the sideline & had to wait 30 seconds before coming back on!
Yes, I know Famewo’s was a contact injury but it was always risky replacing two Steady Eddies at centre-half with two injury-prone ones who are an upgrade on paper. Ajayi lasted exactly one league game before getting a hamstring strain that ruled him out for 4-6 weeks. Do we know when Famewo is back?
If he’s loaned out for a year having all his wages paid, we get to bring in that midfielder on loan which is more pressing than a winger and then he comes back a year later more experienced and worth more/ready to start for us the season after. I don’t see this as a bad thing tbh, we have enough on the wings already to cope without him. Better than selling him for 3 mill now and losing out on more down the line.
We do seem to struggle shifting players on permanently and end up subsidising a chunk of their wages whilst they play for someone else. It is weird that it was mentioned in the media we’d want to at least break even on Kamara’s fee and we’ve let him go out on loan. It just shows how desperate the situation is. We’re probably subsidising the majority of Ömür’s wages as Antalyaspor aren’t a rich club. At least Giles looks like he’s finally earning his keep instead of us loaning him out.
When did Hughes get concussion in the last game ? He went down injured near the end but the physio didn't even come onto the pitch Seems like he really should have been checked out at the time
Really ugly element of football. Here in both the Rugby League and Aussie Rules codes you aren't allowed back on the pitch if you're unable to pass concussion protocols.
