Yep. It’s clearly a danger to public safety and needs binned off. It’s almost at the point where people that go are stupid knowing the risks that they face. This is where my sympathy starts to fade for victims. I don’t understand why they’d put themselves at risk like that.
Maybe my understanding of the law is wrong, but I thought the local authority had the power to pull the licence on such an event. It's like football matches, I'm sure they can't go ahead unless they fufill their public order safety requirements. So the local authorities could take this out of the hands of the police and say nope sorry guys but it's cancelled.
Even though I accept it's too late in the day to pull the plug now, but local authorities would have good reason to based on police intelligence.
Ghislaine Maxwell transcripts released, not listened to any of it. Wrong thread probably for this lol
From the little I’ve heard, it’s basically nothing to see, no lists, Trump wasn’t Epstein’s mate etc.etc. I think the conclusion is that Trumps got to her before anything damaging came out. It will be enough for him to complain it’s all been a political witch hunt and his base happy to turn a blind eye.
She used to invite me over for a coffee but there was an eerie feel to the place. I never did like Maxwell’s house.
I know she got moved to a cushy number somewhere in Texas, minimum security jail, no reason was given for the move - clearly a deal was done at that meet she had with officials, she probably has a pardon in the pipeline, she's 63 she aint going to want to wait until she's 80 before she gets out.
to be fair i've never been but i can imagine its carnage. I was reading earlier on reddit how different carnival was back in the 90s/00s alongside a photographers pics and how it's totally changed now. I should probably go to one really but i don't fancy getting stabbed
Feels like a lot more effort than it’s worth to see some attention-seeking fat birds dancing and pay £20 for jerk chicken. And there’s football on.
Ive been loads of times. Including occasionally in the 80s when there was a bit of carnage. The carnage was generally after dark when the families had mostly gone home. Certainly less threatening, and often more entertaining, than a trip to Fratton Park back then (or now tbh).
Not directing this at you bob but It's always people who've never been that have the worst opinions on carnival I find. Yes crime happens and always will when you get 2m people descending to a small area of London and if its worse than the 90s then that's because the kids are worse now than the 90s Parts and certain sound systems attract a bad crowd. If you Know what to avoid it's safe as you like
For the amount of people who are at carnival, the crime rate is actually relatively low. Like you say it’s the postcode slippin yoot who want a ruckus who cause some high profile grief. And there are certain areas that are sketchier than others, but if you don’t know that, then you can just wander into it oblivious.
