Yeah, he did. Was it Man City or am I imagining that?

He played behind Shola in the 2-2 against Chelsea, was surprisingly good. Could try a 4-2-1-3 but it's quite attacking, not sure our defence is up to it

    Krul
    Simpson - Taylor - Colo - Santon

    Cabaye - Tiote
    Jonas

    Maiga - - - - - - - - - - - - Ben Arfa

I think 4-3-3 could be the way forward in the latter stages of this season and for next season. Ben Arfa plays best in a 4-3-3 where he is on the wing but has a lot less defensive responsibilites, and what I've heard of Maiga he'd be suited to that system too. Unfortunately this would probably mean sacrificing Gutierrez.

In central midfield, Cabaye and Tiote are dead certs, but the 3rd place is up for grabs. Of course Guthrie would be the obvious choice as he's currently our 3rd choice CM. But I would be tempted to play Ryan Taylor there in the long run once Santon is ready to start. He played there for a few games last season and impressed me, he's can takle, pass and shoot OK and his lack of pace wont be exploited as much as it is when he plays left-back.

Then we'd have Obertan, Gutierrez, Shola, Best etc all avaliable to come on and change the game. Not a bad position to be in, we just need some more defenders!

That's pretty much what I play on FIFA, great on paper but you never know til you try it. I suppose a positive is that it will suit more of our foreign imports, as 4-4-2 isnt used nearly as much in France, Holland etc where we appear to be scouting now compared to England.

Looks good, but sadly, I can see Smith replacing Abeid :(
