I had to go for a pre-op assessment at James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough yesterday and has to get bloods taken. The nurse turned out to be a mag when they saw my tattoo on my right arm decided to go out of the room to say that they needed a bigger needle cos I was a mackem. I thought they'd gone to a work colleague but my wife informed be that they had actually gone back into the waiting room to make the announcement They kept going on about family and the mags, apparently the brother was a staunch mag until he banged his head, came to his senses and started supporting Sunderland. The only way I could get the nurse to shut up was to ask if the only way they give blood in Newcastle these days was to have the hand chopped off

Just seen on the local BBC News that there's an exhibition celebrating the mags winning the Carabao cup at the Sage - the only kind of exhibition place within Newcastle to stage it. Here's me thinking that the Sage is in GATESHEAD!
