I fully realise anyone can edit a Wikipedia page but on there, Laalaoui has been compared to Bellingham.

I get that we broke the rules but EFL do seem to be particularly ****ish about this. The player has done nothing wrong.

The fee restriction is the only punishment. At the moment.

Working to an agreed business plan is simply ongoing support to ensure commitments are met and no further punishment is required going forward.

Ad hominem attacks on a fellow poster is the last refuge of the scoundrel dear boy and no substitute for reasoned debate. You were arguing to keep Kamara despite the evidence of us being well stocked in that position and us needing the cash and him off the wage bill. Dancing on the head of a pin and name calling makes you look foolish. IMHO.

Given our unfortunate situation, if we have to sell someone to be able to bring someone in, of our saleable assets Kamara is the only one who would make sense. Hughes is an absolute no go, there's a future 15-20m sale there and on field captain for the next 2 seasons, Pandur is out and out first choice and player of the season. Nothing against Kamara's ability or attitude, but purely reflecting that winger is an area where we have cover and when everyone is fit, he'd prob not be first choice behind Belloumi. We do need another CM, it's an area we're short in at the moment so I think sadly this'll be a case of needs must :-(

    think this sums it up

selling pandur when we cant buy a new gk would be disastrous, likewise with hughes who is night and day our main and best cb
unless belloumi looks incredible on his comeback and we sell him by september:bandit:

Not much more than a week to get any deals done - been here before - but I trust this lot more based on recent months .

The good thing is we have got our business done earlier this year. We're not scrambling for a whole attack with the season underway like we have been in recent years. We need a midfielder and we'd ideally get two or three others if we could but only the midfielder is really important.

We might need a centre half soon.

Would much rather give opportunities to Stan and Cathy Mac

Stan isn't quite there yet from what I've seen. McCarthy looks more the part, but still very young and untested to be relying on.

I’d rather give them the opportunity to improve in the senior environment. I feel we are building a squad capable of helping them through it. A season like this is the perfect time wouldn’t you say? They get 10/15 apps under their belt and then potentially ready to take the mast from Charlie in 12 months

I can see the merit in what you're saying, but I'm not sure you risk them in key positions until they've had a bit of championship experience say as a second no6 or 3rd centre half.

And there's a difference between gaining experience and being relied upon.

But being a 5th choice centre half is surely exactly what you describe? We can't have 5 senior CBs and also expect our young CBs to gain experience.
