<peacedove>Now Monday, we are yet to play on Saturday or Sunday. Because of Alex Alexander's saga this game has taken another dimension. Last season it finished a draw, Newcastle will like to put a dent on Liverpool's chance of retaining the title .Whoever is the referee has to be very strong here .It is going to be a difficult here,
Referee is not yet appointed for this game.

    This game will be spicy.

It required a very strong ref as the atmosphere will be poisonous and kicking are likely.

Someone could decide kicking lumps out of Ekitike will.make them a hero so if a ref offers no protection we need to be ready.

As I said on the other thread this should be at worst 0-0

However we cannot defend and if we give up the amount of set peice we did v Bournemouth there will be trouble.

I want to see good clearances, not half arsed ****e that gives corners away

I want to see pulling and dragging in the box. Schaar and burn should be wrapped up tight by the likes of szoboszlai and no way should midgets be allowed near them

This is going to be a vitriolic **** house where we have to be ready to fight.

They can continue the self harm all the like with isak. There's going to be nothing but fake stories all week about it.

Will shock no one but I think a draw is our best hope here - with Arsenal up straight after I think we need a win - City could be 6clear after first three games

    big big game this

    Edit
    I was being optimistic
Didn’t realise it was a Monday - don’t like MNF

I've gone 0-1 dan burn header in the prediction

If we get out of there with no suspensions or injuries I'll be happy.

There's going to be monumental cheating and thuggery out of newcastle

They are the best pressing unit in the league imo so I'm not expecting much.

Individual quality got us 3 goals there last year and we'll probably need something similar to get anything.

Also,I hope our 0-0 draw against them in January 2026 won't be too costly <laugh>

They were also trash at anfield and we easily beat them 2-0

The 3-3 was not very good for us.

Their first was again a wide open back 2 with no real challenge backing off isak who hammered an unstoppable shot

Their second was tripe defending by konate who let isak walk past him to get onside and then play it to Gordon. Zero real support and a bad shape.

Of course gomez was rb and again he usually over runs a block so he never picked up Gordon either.

Then kelleher let's and easy ball over his head and schaar did well to get it back in.

Honestly its going to be down to central cover. (As in 6 stand in your ****ing position and dont wander off)

Bournemouth left 3 up for the counter. You cannot leave it 3 v 3 if they are doing things like that. There should be platy of space to cut them open

I'm going for an Isak Own-Goal Hattrick if he plays. If he doesn't play, he'll only score one goal.

    That's it then.

One of the worst, scummy corrupt refs possible.

At least one serious injury coming

Could be down to 9 as well with this guy. He has form.

I seriously would not start macallister or kerkez

I think I would prefer PGMOL reinstate Coote and have him in charge rather than Hooper

Hooper was on tjr man itd game with arsenal at the weekend.

It was littered with poor challenges and strange decisions from him.

Arsenal were indulged from.minute 1 and he ignored a pen shout as well.

As I said if we get out of there with no serious injuries it'll be a miracle.

    Frimpong out until after internationals.

Bradley trained a little bit but imagine this game is way too early. Gomez couldn’t train properly after the game so imagine will be hard max for 30-45 mins again.

Talk of either Endo or Szobo being an option at RB

    All good.

    Szoboszlai at rb running about

    Gravenberch and macallister is midfield.

Can move Szoboszlai to cm on 60mins and send on Joe gomez.

    Embarrassment of riches.

If Endo plays there he'll have to hold his position and not go venturing forward - he doesn't have the pace to get back.
Has to be Dom at RB for me.

Sort of explains why he was brought off after an hour last Friday. I understood why Kirkez was brought off - he was a red card waiting to happen (God, I hope Arne has had a word in his ear about Monday night and not getting riled up), but was curious as to what Frimpong had done wrong.

Well, Newcastle has a lot of pace on their left flank, so we'll have to play deep whoever we put there. Maybe an idea to go 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 to give Endo some cover there if he's playing there. One of either Mo, Etikite, or Wirtz could be a bit of a luxury on Monday - i'd much rather see Szobbo on our right flank than RB, even if that means shifting Mo, because he gives you no cover whatsoever.

Going to be a long, long night. :emoticon-0138-think

Slot likes to swap the FBs, he did it all last season. I just assumed he was continuing with this approach

Last season, Newcastle left three forward; they hit it wide for the pacey wingers to chase and supply the central player.

    It'll be fine.

Wirtz will link with Ekitike but actually compete his passes.

The running was good but execution was bad v bournemouth, he wont be phased in the slightest.

We have gakpo, wirtz,Ekitike and salah

They can worry about that just as much as we can worry over rb.

Wirtz is in for a rough ride in this game, their centre mids like to kick lumps out the opposition (and somehow get away with it too)
