It's been a tremendous window aside from a lack of striker(s) Sort that out then it's been perfect. Ramsdale > Dubravka/ Pope; Thiaw > Lascelles; Ramsay > Willock/ Longstaff; Elanga > Murphy.
Wilson replacement checklist: New Striker at a minimum needs to - Score no goals Only be able to last 30 mins Be able to trot around a bit be crap at holding the ball in the corner
This is why I got so annoyed at that Howe sycophant proclaiming Andy Howe had stepped up. Ramsdale, sub. Ramsey, sub. Thiaw, sub. No strikers. Pleased we’ve strengthened the squad of course but we are left short in two critical areas, up front and in goal, because we are now terrified of buying from abroad.
the outcome has been successful (pending Striker) but the journey and process has been an absolute disaster!
The Greek lad who went to Brighton, Kalimuendo who went to Forest, Kilicsoy who went to Cagliari, Boniface who’s gone to Milan on loan. I’d bet all four can do that job. All this huge emphasis on character - how’s it working out with Isak again?!
If we spend £60 million on Wissa we are stupid. Go abroad and get someone younger with more potential for that money
That's a bit harsh on Murphy, who played out his skin last season, but yeah Elanga is younger and faster, and offers us more options. He just needs to make sure he gets the goal as well. I think most of us have pretty much given up on Willock by this point, and almost forget Laecelles is still even here.
Murphy's issue is the consistency and tracking back. Can be a solid player, but Elanga is a game changer with his pace.
It probably would be but I don't think we will be selling Isak for £150million now as I don't think anyone is going to bid that for a player who wants away. I supect we will end up loaning him to Napoli for the season so that at least he retains some of his value.
Can't a PIF club give Brentford the full £50m they want for Wissa and then loan him to us for 1 season? Then we can sort out a long term replacement in the next transfer window. And loan Toney to us while they are at it.
We should be all over multi club ownership under PIF. Buy Wissa - loan him for the season to us along with Toney.
Radical idea guys but why doesnt PIF use the multi club model and perhaps they buy Wissa and then loan him and say Toney to NUFC.
