Must’ve watched it 10+ times I’ve said on another thread - I knew Jack and the last proper conversation I had with him was back in Houghton after the Mags had beat us in the cup. Fair to say he was devastated Sunderland through and through the lad
Just watched this and brings home what this club means. I did not know Jack but I know many people like him. Brings a tear to the eyes x
The lad is so sincere, from the moment he stepped into Jackie’s house you can sense the warmth and empathy from him towards Jackie.
Watched this earlier. Love Wilson’s approach in this. So gentle and with empathy. Seems like a really decent character. RIP to Jack. Im sure Wilson’s goal on Saturday was for you.
Showed this to her indoors who doesn't get football at all and the both of us were cut up watching such a warm human touch at a time of a families suffering. What a club we've become, we have some really special personalities on our books. RIP Jack.
Mrs Bank used to work with Jack and Jackie at Northern Powergrid and was really cut up when the news of his passing came out. She still keeps in touch with Jackie. I didn't know him personally, but by all accounts he was a smashing lad. My son-in-law knew him well through the Houghton branch and his best mate, Lee,(who was pictured holding the flag on the video) has played a big part in organising memorial nights for Jack at Glendale Club in Houghton, raising thousands for BHF. My son-in-law told me that the Premier League and the club had been in touch with the Branch organisers to do this glowing tribute to Jack. Wilson has been superb throughout and is a credit to the club and his profession. RIP Jack lad!
Would love to see this chap capped while he is scoring goals at the highest level for us. Hope he develops and stays here for the long term.
Wilson, man he just gets better and yes, Sunderland is 'that kind of club,' a club bonded with its community because its community are passionate about its club. Just listening to Jackie as she opened the door and spotted Wilson was a tonic, that 'Eeee!,' the voices may differ slightly in pitch but that was every mackem lass; friends, workmates, girlfriends, mams, grans or aunties. It made me pine to be back up in Sunderland.
Why does this club do this to me. RIP Jack and a lovely touch from Wilson. This is what supporting Sunderland is all about. This is a proper special club.
