It's not just us faffing around then. Spuds have been 'hijacked' by Arsenal signing Eze from under their noses. Deal sorted within hours when Spuds have been linked with him for days. If Spuds were any slower even I would beat them in a sack race.
Balls on the table time guys............. I want Jackson!
I personally think if we get a striker and keep Isak (and somehow it gets semi sorted in the future) it’s been a good window. But that’s IF we get a striker.
this summer for me wasn’t about strengthening the first 11, it was about building a better squad.
Ramsey > Longstaff
Elanga > Miggy
Ramsdale > Dubravka
Thiaw > Lascelles (couldn’t think of a defender we’ve sold)
& then a striker to replace Wilson (presumably won’t be injured for 6 months of the season)
that’s a much better squad. But let’s see come September 1st.
Yep, I think it's been very good overall. We've upgraded in 4 key positions."Thiaw > Lascelles (couldn’t think of a defender we’ve sold)"
Lloyd Kelly

If Wissa ends up at spurs then we have totally ****ed that up.Will the geordie or cockney snail win the race for Wissa now because I think Spurs will be so pissed off with fcuking this Eze deal up that they'll go all in for Wissa... and will move in straightaway. Will Andy Howe and co still be asleep at the desk or twiddling their thumbs whilst Wissa puts pen to paper for the Spuds
Give them £30m and Willock. If Wissa ends up at spurs then we have totally ****ed that up.
I think we just need to accept we have to pay the 50m they want (Brentford and if that’s the fee) and get him because we have not got many other options.

We won’t take a risk like that mate. We throughly scout players to the far end of a fart.or, and here’s a radical thought, go for someone on the continent at incredibly better value.
We sell Isak for 150m after buying Wissa for 50m and it’s all good mate. You'd whine in a couple of years when Newcastle need to fill another position, but can't because of psr. The story would turn to tears about no signings coming in and blaming someone at the club.
Newcastle have to look after the pounds. The fans would just end up like Everton out of desperation in the here and now.
I have a problem with paying £50m for Wissa when in 12 months he will be free, I really do.
It used to be that players in their last year were all available for a knock down price but it's insane to think a good (at best) striker heading towards 30 is commanding this kind of fee.
If I were our owners I'd communicate this to the fans and simply say 'for the long term benefit of the club, we will have to proceed for the first half of the season with perhaps Osula and Mitro as we can't risk the long term health of the club by paying over the odds'.
Some whiney ****s will still cry, but the fault here isn't the club for trying to sign top end players.. it's that rat Isak and how his antics have disrupted our plans and forced up some of the prices too.
Looks like it.Wilson left 8 weeks ago. I understand that replacing Isak is very difficult, but upgrading Wilson? Is that really suc a challenge?
