    Ha, i enjoyed it. Will we ever get bored of watching crime drama with a broken/tragedy-struck/autistic lead detective who is being given one last chance by a fatherly/motherly senior officer...

    This was way before there was such a thing as City of Culture.
    I used to go to pantomines at the New Theatre when I was a kid, my dad got free tickets through work. (Hawker Siddeley, Brough).

    It is the past history that led to the award. Or, they give it to rundown cities that need a bit of tourism as they struggle for tourists. Hull, Coventry, Bradford. Which is why one city I can think of didn’t need it with all its attractions.
