    Why would any big name player want to go or stay there now if they know they could get trapped and won’t be allowed to leave.

    So glad we have competent people on the board and aren’t embarrassing our selves on the world stage like they are.

    I will never worry about sustained success for Newcastle. They’re an absolute circus and always will be. Having them as our rivals is a lifetime blessing.

    Basically they’ve made similar promises like we have to our players, they’ve reneged and we honour them.
    Ones a classy sustainable club ran by professionals the other is based in Riyadh.

    Choosing their words very carefully to reframe the narrative. Isak has never said that he was promised he'd be allowed to leave the club this summer, which is what they're refuting. As far as I understand it, he was promised a new contract which was reneged on and now he doesn't trust them.

    Calling him part of the family whilst excluding him from family events is an interesting version of events mind.

    I thought it was interesting the line about no commitment from an club official, the rumour i heard was that Amanda Staveley promised him a move but she's since left. So that would tie into it, if there was nothing promised just say there was no promises made full stop!
