In saying how is a crib sheet cheating, you've answered your own question. Doesn't crib mean cheat? You've just essentially said how is cheating, cheating?

I'm not making a big deal of it but it's cheating.

Part about crying in Turin and then finishes it off with

This is how the Chiesa song may sound to the ears of a Juventus supporter but I’ve adjusted it to make it really clear.
“**** off Liverpool, I’m a South Yorkshire policeman now.”

Just to add, not social media, written by Tony Evans

Also a bit in the athletic written by Simon Hughes but behind a paywall but titled - Why the chant is making some Liverpool fans uncomfortable which I assume is along the same lines.

I wouldn’t say it’s cheating - it’s trying to gain an advantage. But is it any different to getting a physio on and using it to get some tactics across to the team? I think it’s widely accepted thing that every team does - whether it’s against the spirit is another thing but the fact that there is nothing in the laws to say it can’t be done not sure you can claim it’s cheating.

    I largely agree.

There's a fine line between what you would call gaining an advantage and cheating. They are basically synonymous. Nobody would flat out say that a player going down pretending to be injured is cheating, or call time wasting, cheating. The pundits would say they were being clever. Others would call it gamesmanship. I think they're just fancy words for cheating. As I said I don't think it's a big deal.

If you go into an exam well prepared, you don't need a crib sheet. If you took this as an analogy, Pickford would be expelled. :)

Meh, just a has been trying to stay relevant by creating fake outrage and taking something out of context.

Maybe but apart from some of the very aggressive language used throughout, he's highlighted something that didn't need highlighting and saying rival fans will be going for it now. D'ya think, Tony. <doh>

    There's open book exams.

I can think of no rule in football that makes this cheating

I can think of tennis where coaches cannot coach from the box but a player could bring notes and read them at breaks all he wants.

My issue here is I dont see the rule that he is either breaking or against the spirit of.

The England keeper stealing and chucking the sapniah keepers bottle is "ungentlemanly conduct"

You see that's where we differ. You don't have to be told something's cheating to use your own judgement. If there was a rule then breaking the rule would be just that and not cheating.

There are lots of instances that aren't covered in the rules that actually amount to cheating like those I've already mentioned. The towel on the sidelines was another one. Ball boys wasting time by delaying passing the ball to the opposition or not even bothering to give the opposition the ball and making them retrieve it themselves. To me they're all modes of cheating.

Btw the Spanish goalkeeper said the England goalkeeper had told porkies (well she didn't use that expression) She didn't have her water bottle thrown away it was there throughout the whole shootout and video evidence supports it.

So you know of no rule that is broken by having such a sheet either?

I simply fail to see what a little list on a bottle gives as an advantage to anyone

Pickford has his info off data for 3 or 4 possible takers based on subs.

The taker for Leeds for example should know from his own analytics that pickford will likely do whatever and thry dont need a list as its just pickford.

Of all the thuggish scummy behaviour pickford gets up to, this seems utterly irrelevant.

Falling on the ball constantly when he can simply hold it I'm his hands then waste.time is something there is now a rule against.

When someone makes a rule.about notes then its a story.

Like our first corner we can send a lad into the 6 yard zone to read his bottle.

You brought up the water bottle thing, I'm just responding with what I think. It's not against any rule, I haven't claimed it is and it's certainly not the worst thing he does or even close to it.

Violating rules is just one form of cheating. Acting dishonesty or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, is another.

This is turning into more than I meant it to be with my casual remark. <laugh>

Is there anything in football that doesn't break a rule but you regard as cheating?
