Anyone envious about Forest business this summer? Especially the last week, MacAtee, Hudson-Odoi and Kalimuendo for under £100m. 2 young Brazilian lads for sub £30m and a £40m winger from Seria A, while they've made nearly £100m in sales. Think they've been very shrewd in the market this year and getting a decent team together there. Not sure why we weren't in for Kalimuendo in the state we are in up top for £25/26m.
My guess is, we’re looking at a top striker to play with Isak. We’ll offer him a new contract but it will blow our wage structure apart and my guess would be Bruno and Sandro would be given new deals to match. By the time you pump 3 of them up to £200k+ a week over 4 or 5 years the £40m here and there for ****e like wissa pays them what they’re worth and gets a happy squad again.
That'd be the dream but, and playing devils advocate here, can you see Isak playing again for us? I'd love for him to sign on a new contract (that suits all parties) and we get another top striker in but chances are he's checked out mentally, in my eye's at least. Wissa and Kalimuendo would have cost about £65-75m together and still had some change left over from selling Isak to look at the defence long term as we have several over 30+ defenders who'll need replacing in a year or two.
Looking like they will get Luis Diaz now as well. Makes you wonder whether they are flirting with the financial regs again. If so then I expect they'll be hit harder for a repeat offence.
Well £55m for Elanga x 5 would give them £275m in psr world. Todays maths lesson was brought to you today by cruzcampo in association with FIREBALL
It doesn’t feel now like a striker is imminent (I’m trying the reverse ****). Is there a world where Isak just comes out publicly and says ok I made a mistake but I was being badly advised. My agent has been sacked and I never once said I won’t play for Newcastle again. I just had to stay away because my head space wasn’t right. I guess if he came out and said this the fans may actually accept him back?????? Thoughts?
Sorry, I hadn't got that far, the reverse **** distracted me. I think in the multiverse of madness, there might be one version where Isak does exactly that. The odds of it being the one we are in feel pretty low. Just my view.
Said it before but strand Larson will be the one.. He's got them Newcastle vibes. Basically everyone will have to pretend they're delighted.
