Interesting, not against that at all, guess it just wasn't on my bingo card! We agree on where the improvements need to be made, when I first saw him he was a lump with pace, his first touch and finishing is almost unrecognisable now, but has been caught offside a couple of times tonight, a slower more technical game could suit him for his development. I'll nominate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_Charleroi
I like us to have a link up with a club abroad where we can send loan players to a different type of league Trey is a talent and i could see him going out on loan at some point this season
Can't believe i'm saying this but huge credit to Poveda for getting his head down and playing for the u21s and actually playing well
Attitude has obviously been spot on otherwise he wouldn't be playing with the U21s Shows that the others attitude hasn't been as good or they've been told to stay away from the club until moves are found for them
Sunderland Under-21s began their Premier League 2 campaign with a 5-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Eppleton CW. A brace from Oliver Irow and goals from Dante Cassanova, Luca Williams-Barnett, and Rio Kyerematen sealed the points for the visitors, despite a hat-trick from Trey Ogunsuyi for 10-man Sunderland. Jaydon Jones was dismissed late on for a second bookable offence. Graeme Murty handed Marshall Burke his first PL2 start since October 2024 following his return from a long-term knee injury, while Under-18 defenders Finlay Holcroft and Ben Kindon were also named in the starting XI. Spurs opened the scoring on nine minutes when Tynan Thompson’s teasing cross was turned home by Irow from close range. The visitors doubled their lead four minutes later from the penalty spot, Irow converting after Allan was penalised for tripping Callum Olusesi. Tottenham struck a third on 25 minutes, as Reiss Russell-Denny picked out Cassanova on the edge of the box and the forward drilled past Allan. Sunderland responded with chances of their own as Ogunsuyi’s curling effort deflected narrowly wide, before Jack Whittaker and Ben Middlemas both tested Spurs goalkeeper Luca Gunter. The Lads pulled one back before the break when Ian Poveda’s perfectly weighted pass sent Ogunsuyi through on goal, the striker delicately lifting the ball over Gunter into the far corner. Both sides came out attacking after half-time, Timur Tutierov going close for Sunderland before Spurs restored their three-goal cushion on 56 minutes, Williams-Barnett finishing from Yusuf Akhamrich’s pass. Ogunsuyi reduced the deficit on 62 minutes, capitalising on a defensive error to slot past Gunter, and completed his hat-trick 15 minutes later following a slick team move. Allan’s goal kick found Poveda, whose defence-splitting ball released Ogunsuyi to finish from close range. Tottenham added their fifth on 85 minutes through substitute Kyerematen, who fired low and hard past Allan. Sunderland finished the match with ten men after substitute Jaydon Jones was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time. The Lads return to action next Friday, travelling to Southampton in Premier League 2. SAFC XI: Allan, Jen Jones, Bainbridge (Lightfoot 50’), Middlemas (c), Holcroft, Kindon, Poveda (Dinsdale 89’), Burke (Jay Jones 63’), Ogunsuyi, Whittaker, Tutierov (Scott 63’) Subs not used: Cameron
