Good of Tower Hamlets Council to start removing the cross of St George flags from its lampposts. We seem to be able to 'celebrate' literally everything which isn't British from Diwali, Pride, and even Pakistan independence day in this country, and we paint rainbow colours on pedestrian crossings and we light up libraries and public buildings in the colours of other countries and beliefs But when people want to mark St Georges Day or something British, then councils find any excuse to take national stuff down, if it's even allowed to go up in the first place And on the subject of London, is there another capital city anywhere in the world where the majority of its population weren't even born there ?
