That scenario is only an issue if we are aiming for higher than 17th. At this stage we aren’t. Burnley and Leeds tanking effectively ‘plus 6’ many teams we are trying to beat and also would neutralise and points we get off those 2.
I mean us the fans, not the club. Club unquestionably is. Haven’t heard a single one of our fans yet deviate from ‘just stay up’ this season.
TBH I’ve changed from that position due to the fantastic recruitment. I’d see hoping for scraping into 17th as a bit defeatist now … … the club are clearly not going to be content with a season long ordeal so neither am I. Saying ‘I’ll be quite happy with fourth bottom’ sounds quite positive and chirpy whereas the reality is an absolute slog and finishing a couple of points ahead at the end of May. Sod that and I don’t care what other club’s supporters think, I want top half even if it’s on goal difference.
I won’t say out loud where I think we gonna finish mate, but trust me it’s not 17th. My point is, staying up IS the best all and end all season 1.
I do not. Ok. Based on who we’ve signed, the club videos of the great bind and the buy in from the new lads, the overestimation by many of the league (not every team is stacked) and the general feel good factor, I reckon, in my current frame of mind, we finish above Burnley Leeds Brentford Wolves West Ham Everton Fulham That’s where I have us ‘right now’ It doesn’t change that 17th or higher is all that matters this season. I fancy us to go well in a cup.
Fancy Everton to win tonight, although their fullbacks are questionable. Grealish off the bench to get the winner.
Seeing that Leeds team sheet has just hit home how much we’ve improved. We look light years ahead of them on paper. They don’t look like they’ve got a single player that would get into our starting XI
Leeds winning this wouldn’t be a bad thing We need a few sides in the relegation mix to have a better chance of survival IMO
