I'd say it was definitely scripted. They made a joke of Shearer not wanting to talk about Sunderland during the briefing and it was a good opportunity for Rooney to talk about us in an informed way (well as informed as he's capable of). Most pundits wouldn't have mentioned the way we are happy to defend and counter as a strategy like Rooney did, they'd have made the ignorant comments about us being under pressure. Shearer has had no problem talking about us in the past, and I doubt he will have any problem doing so again (maybe not on derby day).
Keep seeing this about Shearer and he's a ****er for sure but he said as early as 12pm on 5Live that he wasn't doing the Sunderland analysis tonight, Rooney was. That's the way MotD works, each pundit takes a side each for each game. Its 50/50. He'll do us next week probably.
It’s not 50/50 though…. he won’t talk about us if we do well!! It’s total **** from the BBC… and he needs sacking….bias is not in the job description!
Chapman said he was doing West Ham….. if they’d have won, he’d have been all over that…with a smirk on his face…. the bias is so transparent.. can’t understand why we have to put up with it!
Yeh but it was already agreed pre-match and they were adding the "banter" as a joke. The pundits each focus on one side only. They have to watch 4-5 different games so decide before who's doing what.
Well, believe what you want marra…he’s never going to say anything complimentary about us….. as I’ve said earlier…he hates us with a passion, and we hate him the same.I thought he’d swallowed a wasp on Saturday…. he must have been expecting to comment on a West Ham win…. and couldn’t cope with reality.
Believe what I want? I HEARD it on 5 live as I was driving up. He said Rooney had been given Sunderland and him West Ham, and it means he'll avoid getting stick.
I couldn't less about Shearer or his football team, what he does or says is totally irrelevant to me. For football I am firmly in the corner of Sky....MOTD was history for me years ago
Whoever is doing the opposite side usually makes some brief comments about the other team as well … … I guarantee Shearer will comment on Newcastle in the next game where he’s supposed to be analysing their opposition. I don’t really care but it is quite childish.
I’ll be keeping an eye on how often he talks about us when we win this season, mind. Bet he picks up the weeks when we play Liverpool and City
Wouldn't it be a complete bastard that he's down to comment on games against teams that are expected to beat us comfortably and we pull a shocker out the bag
Exactly…. he’ll revel in it when we get beat! He’s a grade A arsehole…. he’s never really recovered from missing that pen against Tommy 25 years or so ago! As a pundit, biased as they come… and flat boring!! Get rid BBC….ffs!
MNF is on tonight and Gary Neville has spoken very complimentary of us on his podcast so we should get some good analysis tonight
I honestly do not hate him. Or them. They are not even genuine rivals anymore. How can you have a country as a rival, even a benign country, say Uruguay or Belgium? Never mind a toxic, islamic dictatorship . You just can't. Both he and they are beyond the pale and irrelevant to me.
If it was scripted , they must see the script before they go on air. He therefore must have had opportunity to say this will get me criticised - let me at least say things like West Ham were poor , but because Sunderland did great things that they couldn’t deal with/they made them look poor. He’s in a no win now - awkward if he now sums up why we lost a game, and if he never comments on us rest of season , then he’s the unprofessional who is showing off to the mag fans to sucking their love
Didn’t expect anything different from the prick, can’t believe the BBC keep on hiring very poor pundits Going off his past comments he’s also a Keegan bandwagon tit, he stated that his first game was keegans first game as a player in 1982 against QPR when he was 12 ffs, surely you get taken to games before then, but then again them pre-Keagan years are erased from their memory bank, but I still remember them well, and if I remember correctly just recently he mentioned about watching Liverpool in the 70,s in the kop with his family members not against the Mags though,so aye dyed in the blood black and white my ar*e
Wonder what/who was involved in the dressing room bust up for WHU? Potter having to find alternative transport home doesn't look good at all, not an auspicious start to the season for them....not seen any media follow up, its all been kept very quiet since. Anybody any ideas?
