I was delighted with the Solomon transfer. It was a risk re his injury recovery but he was clearly a class above champ level. All transfer's are a risk you are correct, some greater than others and you have to factor that into both the fee and other transfers/cover. The concern for most is creativity and finishing in the final third and our additions there all have question marks over them. So concern is understandable. I think most appreciate that these game changer signings are the hardest to do, tend to happen late in the window and that we're feeding on scraps. I'm certainly not critical of the recruitment team. Window not finished yet. I'll reserve initial judgment until it is, but the real judgement will be further down the line when we get to see whether operation big lad was the right call or not as the season takes shape. I agree on the mentality and culture points. We'll find out how 'exceptional' our transfer business is when, by christmas, we see if we've unearthed bargains or just padded the squad with mediocrity. Many leeds fans seem to think the former and other fans the latter.
The one big positive for Okafor is that he scores goals. He is pretty good at finishing. That was one area for concern. As milky highlighted, DCL is very Bamfordesque in front of goal, Nmecha never scores alot. Our wingers have never proved their goalscoring efficiency at the highest level. Just to piss a few more off, Okafor started off as a winger but bulked up at Salzburg and turned in to a 9 who could use his pace in behind. Milan actually signed him to play as a striker but injuries hit, he put on weight and they played him out wide again. Maybe this is our 4th striker option and we wont be bringing another one in. If Okafor can get his Salzburg fitness and confidence back then he could prove to be highly effective with his power, pace and finishing in this league. He failed his last medical so it might not happen.
no idea mate... but I consider you a good judge of a player with a good understanding of football my doubts are based on injury record and fan comments that he flatters to deceive a bit. But I can see he has something. As you know i prefer to judge on first hand experience. If he comes, I welcome him and obviously hope he does well
Dan James struggled in the Premier League before we went down. You need to remember he was on the Fulham bench constantly. Gnonto was a shining star in a piss poor squad last time out. Ramazani is an unkown quanitity in this league. He can't be any worse
He's different to what we have. A big boy for a winger. Quick and likes to get in behind. Decent finisher. A different conundrum for a defence to Harrison, Ramazani, James, Gnonto.
So what's all the worry about, were doing ok, 14th in the league, just three points off the top and with a game in hand
This guy has been mentioned countless times since January and this window and is supposed to be a big upgrade on Aaronson. It seems both Leeds and Brentford are in contact for him, Getafe’s Christantus Uche
