Watched MOTD again this morning, the missus really needs to clean the house better, dust everywhere making my eyes water when we scored those goals!
Had my mate on today. A Happy Hammer he is not. He has no complaints at all and says at half time he was expecting to get beat. I'm not sure how they have managed to get to where they are. No stadium to pay for, only £2m a year rental with no running costs, years on end in the PL, and they start a season with two centre forwards into their thirties with wet sand in their legs. Wilson was a cracking player once, but the lad is more or less all done. It's all Bowen or Paqueta for them. They could be in big trouble unless they get some energy into that side.
As good as we were, they looked really poor. That defence was terrible I thought and the keeper looked dodgy for our first and last. Was it Aguerd we were linked with? No thanks. They have a look of club who have taken the prem status for granted and expect to always find worse teams. Just the sort of club we can overtake quickly imo in terms of prem readiness and quality. They arent the only one. Wolves looked pretty hapless in defence. Could well be the perfect season to have come up.
I wanted us to go for Hermansen I’m glad the club didn’t. He was ropey as hell. Petrovic was Friday too. Tell you who wasn’t? Roefs.
Great to see so many stay to the end and enjoy roaring the lads off after that performance. Long may it continue. Teams won't like that kind of atmosphere. We need it at home.
Surpirsed that a lot of the pundits had never watched our performances from last season where in the big games we would look to soak pressure and then hit on the counter. We were always this season going to give up possession to the opposition and then hit on the counter with the view for 3 to 4 passes to create either a cross or shot. This approach would give a better chance of accumulating points as we would be forcing teams to break us down rather causing self inflicted damage like a Kompany, Martin team in trying to out pass better teams by playing out of the back or going gun ho against teams at home because that's how you play. The young players purchased have all been identified to play this football - all have one common attribute athletism and pace. The experienced players acquired have been bought in defensive areas and the midfield sitter. Not sure where we will end up this season as i still think converting chances created may be an issue but we are certainly going to be competitive and not make up the numbers.
He was more concerned with where the ball was going to be after the save rather than the save itself. Roefs save from the Isidor deflection was a very good stop.

Agree with all of that. It may be the Chelsea lad on loan can contribute goals....we haven't seen him yet.
I think pundits at time pander to the lowest common denominator. As ex pros they will probably know that more possession doesn’t always make that team the best. But to the average supporter, like myself, we don’t understand tactics as much as we think we do. Therefore it’s easier to just say that team X were better than team Y because team X had more of the ball. This is probably a good way of looking at it….
Commentators and the pundits did it often, 'Sunderland way behind in possession going to lose this match' was the basics of their commentary in play offs. They did same yesterday im the stream I watched all about West Ham and their possession. Rooney seemed to be aware of how we played and how that was the best approach! Still reckon he would rather we got beat every week!
We gonna have less possession. It’s like sparring, stand back come at us, come at us, wallop. We don’t want 70% possession we maybe don’t quite have the craft to create in that scenario.
