As I don’t do aways and only homes, Sunday 12:30 for an away is ideal for me. It means I get my Saturday to do my crap, I get up, watch us win then still got the best part of Sunday to relax before the hard Mon-Fri slog.
If I'm going to the game, then I much prefer a Saturday. Not a fan of going to a game on a Sunday, especially if it's away. But if it's a game I'll be watching from my sofa - which will be the case tomorrow - then like you, I like a midday Sunday. Relaxing indeed.
Much the same for us. We're going to The Hague shopping at the Oriental supermarket then Lele Indonesian baked catfish.
I've posted this before but it's worth another look with SRL and Adam displaying their telepathy with some sublime football...
Maybe maybe not! A very distant relative of mine, went by the name (oddly) of John Conquereor. In 1896 he was the secretary of Southwick FC in Sunderland. Anyway he was in attendance when Sunderland played Derby - the referee hadn`t turned up, and both sides agreed that a stand-in ref be appointed - enter my relative! Sunderland were 3-0 up at half time, when the proper ref showed up, who insisted that the match be restarted. The result wasn`t effected, as Sunderland still ran out easy winners, but the game is known locally as the game of three halves. I bet he was a better ref than last weeks incumbent against Wrexham !
This leads down a rabbit hole. That same referee reffed a Saints game where he was chased naked by a Sheffield Utd player and hid in a cupboard. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Kirkham
We should be retrospectively awarded the cup tbh. I'll still celebrate it 120 odd years after the fact.
Agreed, watch the game a few ciders and hopefully get the points. Then try and cook the Sunday roast and try not to burn the duck ( tomorrow). All, enjoy the game, looks like 3rd is an option with a comfy 2-0. Let's hope both Dibbers ans Matty start
A very pertinent observation. We will see.... but does add weight, well when I was in that situation in the cup final or whatever. We did this....
