A few key injuries, Ward badly beaten at his near post, showing why Leicester fans were saying don't sign him, a very dodgy defence with too little pace and a centre back who ducked away from a goal-assist cross when he could have blocked it. On top of that Parky is trying to play as though they are still in League One.
Think they might do alright mind. Edwards needed a good start as he wasn't a universally popular appointment. But they've done all that and none of them worked. I haven't watched them yet, but a couple of mates say it's more direct, and they are mixing it up a bit too. Carrick was sending them to sleep!
Been catching up with my son. Been to both Derby games so far. His opinion? They are really weak. Not a good start from them at all. I did fear their back line looked to similar and my lad reckons that is about right. Easy to get at. Just sharing for those of us who thought they would be dark horses. He said Coventry showed some real quality at times. A bit open at the back but on the ball they looked quality. Early days but they may be in for another top 6 push. Maybe Lampard is learning after all.
Me too. My fear has always been Lampard but maybe he is learning now. He will need to keep himself and those about him on an even keel this season, but the squad doesnt look too far off. Thomas will be a loss, but replacable if they are smart.
I must say, it was nice to see our Coventry and Frank’s tactics have evolved over the summer. Only 4 of their 5 goals came from down their right hand side yesterday. ( For balance, the other was a penalty that started out on the left).
