If so, then I assume that means they have had 'encouragement' from Newcastle's owners to come back in, as that's what virtually every journo reported after the first bid and the "nature of the refusal".
I think we are well past the stage where we will be calling them monkeys (unless we are Chelsea fans of course).
Tbf you were also kinda right when you said Newcastle wouldn't qualify for the champions league within 4 years following the takeover...... They did it twice.
The last I read on him was that he was too expensive... He's probably also seen as a big risk... That league isn't anywhere near the standard of the PL. I'd rather get the german guy if possible or maybe openda.. He seems more like it.. Or that fwd at salzburg... There's loads more but just a few examples... I don't understand this narrative that there's nobody left to buy. Like how?
The scouting is dogshit, we know it and have known it for ages but it’s not going to be fixed quickly and i suspect your post that Wissa will be the last through the door regardless of the Isak saga is sadly true. We just seem caught on our heels the whole time. Thiaw could’ve followed the same path as the likes of Trafford and gone to Como, we took a further six weeks to sort that deal.
It's probably worth looking who the links were 2 years ago. It doesn't appear like anything new has ever been added to the list. I simply don't understand why the can't sign anything even remotely exciting in any area of the pitch. I suppose Elanga might be, but who else? They're all solid players and some are actually top top players, but there's no real flair anywhere at the club.
This transfer window has been a **** but get Wissa in and it's actually turned out okay. We have raised the floor if not the ceiling. However I still think in the last 2 weeks a large opportunity is going to present itself and we will get a purple in. Madness I know but I am cautiously optimistic now
If it wasn't for Isak we'd having a good window tbf. It's a huge issue unfortunately. Wissa will do at this point, but it just feels like we get ****ed off upto a certain spot and then they stop. We just need a little bit extra.
Hitting new depths, Roly. You’re now complaining that a player we have bought could have gone elsewhere because we didn’t buy him several weeks ago because he turned that deal down.
