Off Topic Holidays

People tend to get put off thinking it will be expensive. Ok, the flights aren't cheap but compare the hotels, food and beer in that part of the country and the overall price ain't bad, comparable to most places in Europe. Am thinking of Thailand again next year or Vietnam for first time.

 

Thinking of booking Bratislava for a city in March for partners birthday.

Anyone been?

I've been Prague, Riga, Budapest, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

 

I'm also tempted with Lisbon.

 

Do it mate, it's a great place. I was there in February, 4th time. It compares well with Prague and Riga and cheap. I have never been a fan of Amsterdam or Barcelona. Other great places to consider are krakow, Gdansk and Wroclav.

 

You really shouldn’t be calling them that, I’ve heard some folk spend a lot of money for their company!

 

Bit harsh, some of them are passable and I'd be tempted during a drought.

 

Early bird prices I guess....Also, not staying on Hong Kong island probably saves a few bob. My hotel in Kowloon. It's literally two hundred yards from ferry point going across Victoria Harbour to HK island, and that costs about £1 a time...

 

Was that Business class? I'm in economy, or maybe even the cargo bay.

 

Again, I can recommend. Very laid back and some great quirky bars.

 

I travel Steerage

 

Yeah I’ve been. It’s fabulous. Ex won a 10k river cruise back in 2017, went along the Danube. Only got a day or so there, but beautiful place, amazing architecture, loved the antmosphere there and definitely a place I would love to explore more.

 

Salzburg is another really great place. Vienna didn’t bother me much tbh.
