I like his versatility and I think Akpom is a good signing for the Championship level. He obviously had that stand-out season a few years ago where he scored a lot and was a key part of an exciting Middlesbrough side that just fell short in the play-offs. I like that he can play up top, at number 10, and out wide on the left. Hopefully adds a bit of resilience if players get injured or if Broadhead goes to Wrexham. His top-scoring season for Boro was a bit of an aberration, so hopefully we haven't signed someone who had one stand-out year and can't recapture those heights. Having said that, I don't think he currently gets ahead of the likes of Hirst and Szmodics without seeing how he plays on the pitch.

I'm a bit concerned that we'll be signing him permanently on good Premier League wages if we go up. I'm not convinced he's going to be an effective centre-forward in the Premier League, so we've potentially locked ourselves into a deal that won't provide much value in the longer term. Then again, if we do get promoted this season - and he's chipped in with several goals from the bench - I don't think the club or us will mind all that much. I guess we can just loan him out next season, if we feel he isn't a long-term solution.

Broadhead to Wrexham for £10 million. That’s right - £10 million! He’s a good player, but for that much money with a year left on his contract, I think we’ve played a blinder there. Needless to say, massive thanks to Broadhead for his achievements here.

That’s a good deal for everyone involved. Wrexham have themselves a dedicated pro and one of the very best attacking players at this level.

Well worthy of a place in the hall of fame alongside Morsy.

Azon to Town, initial loan with obligation if promoted, figure quoted is about 12m
I watched him recently against Betis, came on and scored a good goal

I've not heard of him before, but hopefully he provides an immediate upgrade on Al-Hamadi and can be a useful option from the bench to cover Hirst. It's encouraging to see he's match fit from a full pre-season and has scored a few times for confidence too. I won't be surprised to see him come off the bench against Southampton on the weekend.

I know I’m massively in the minority but I thought Pablo was the most overrated player we ever had. Decent enough in home games, passenger in away games and kept trying to be to flash. In other news, Omari to Forest for 37.5m looks on twtd amongst others are reporting

Another good bit of business,he performs well against less robust opposition but he's too lightweight for the PL.Would have been good if he could have helped us out of this Division again but his head had obviously been turned.
