Cracking move for him, obviously didn't impact us massively on the pitch but seemed to be huge off the pitch
I can't see DN accepting the demotion as captain very well. Add the ongoing contract stall into the mix and I can only see one outcome. Making GX captain is the correct decision.
I don't think he would be happy about losing the armband but I bet he respects the decision Neil will still be a leader in the dressing room and he won't have any issues with Xhaka being the captain
It was a no brainer having somebody with Xhakas stature and experience to be named Captain. Im sure Neil will totally agree its the right decision.
We good I'm just a little uncomfortable with things that look a bit stalkerish regarding people's privacy, perhaps that's just me. Personally I don't think it's stupid for players to post an innocent photo because their residence can be pinpointed. It's like the tracking of private flights and contacting player's agents, etc, just seems to be about things that aren't really 'football' imo. The players are here to play football and should be able to just live their private lives, we don't own them. RLB, and his wife, had to engage security when supporters tracked down and targeted their home. I'm not saying identifying Cirkin's residence is a big deal, just that imo, it's none of our fkn business
I think the problem isn't fans knowing where Cirkin lives, nor feeling entitled to, it's criminals who are known to target footballers' homes when they have away games that are the problem.
I think it’ll be a weight lifted off Dans shoulders in my opinion it seemed to weigh on him last season at times, hope he signs and stays around there a massive talent there for him to learn off
Cirkin chose to post his residence on Instagram for his thousands of followers to see. He obviously doesnt have a problem with it
I think we're a bit different with the captaincy where it gets reviewed each season along side the 'leadership team'. The way we operate, there will always be a decent chance someone in that group will outgrow the club (like Jobe). No comment on Neil in the statement, but hopefully there's no friction with the decision, I doubt there will be and can imagine him being a top pro, but obviously you can see it will be a bit deflating for the lad at least initially. Ruthless business.
