Final sentence corrected for you ..."It's his (lack of) quality and composure that lets him down". Maybe ok as a versatile squad player for back up but shouldn't be starting.
Doesn't need correcting because the inference is on 'lets him down'. And FWIW he probably won't be starting when another mid comes in as planned and Matazo is back. His versatility will probably see him get used though, if he isn't sold.
If only it was that simple. Keepers need to work with the coach and the back four in training and know for sure who takes who in the event of a situation.like corners and set pieces. On top of that there is correct distribution from a possession point of view and who will usually be the first defender to clear at near post or the back stick. Then he’s made aware of who is usually the first option playing out from the back and what to expect if that scenario changes like it did last night. Shot stopping is only part of the equation. UTT.
I’m not talking about his distribution in possession. I’m talking about his shot-stopping and it was woeful. He could’ve done better for the second goal and he has poor reactions. He didn’t even dive for one of the penalties and it wasn’t even an amazing penalty.
Imo it did. Your inference was that the rest of his play is fine, just that "his final ball quality and composure let him down". I think it's more than that, in that his overall (lack of) quality and composure let him down.
He’s no Tony Norman or even Pandur I’ll give you that. No doubt he will be judged on his performance like the rest of the team when they sit down watch the game again together. UTT.
He may just have been rusty, but it doesn't fill me with confidence, especially after the reviews received by Rotherham fans. I literally stated his work rate was fine then criticised his quality and composure on the ball. You've just unnecessarily said the same thing twice in the same sentence. But as we've agreed on the subject matter, I'll let you thinking you're qualified to re-write other people's posts at the expense of concision pass on this occasion.
Here's what you actually said "It's his final ball quality and composure that often let's him down". I said imo it's more than just his final ball, it's his overall (lack of) quality and composure. Is it really that difficult?
He often does something good to get into promising positions, then ****s up the simple pass or finish when he's done the hard work. That's what I was specifically referring to, but frankly it's splitting hairs. It does come down to overall quality ultimately.
TBF to him on that pen, his weight was all going the opposite way and it would have been impossible for him to shift his weight enough to be able to dive for it.
I once heard a top keeper say that the keeper decide if he came for crosses like those or decided his backs would almost as a definitive ‘policy’ ?
