Agree Isak isn’t helping the matter with his actions but do you then throw your hands up and say alright you can go for “x” less than we wanted? In this case it’s around 23-24% less - all it’ll do is set a bad precedent for the next player to get dollar signs in their eyes and not just for us I’d add!
I mean... if he had broken his leg, you probably would have done that. He hasn't broken anything physical, but his mentality looks a little broken. You obviously can't be too "agreeable" with the situation, because then, as you say, what's to stop others doing the same- but you get nothing if you keep him and he continues acting up. Probably best to just get as much as you can from him- and try and obfuscate the actual value from the public. I don't know if you can get around withholding his loyalty bonus from him to recoup a little bit of the money- he may not have made an official transfer request- but if he fights that and tries to get the money from you- I think you have a strong case that he made the request via actions and public statements. As a Liverpool fan, I'd still love for us to sign him, but this whole summer saga has soured me on him quite a bit, and I'll always wonder if he'll pull this same stunt on us to get to Barcelona or Madrid.
I’m fairly certain every other club (Liverpool aside if course) are watching to see how this all pans out and where it ends up! Players have way too much power and they ****ing shouldn’t, plain and simple! It’s not about winning either, there are fundamental principles here. He’s our player, he’s under contract for another 3 years and we don’t need to sell him. If someone wants him it’s plain and simple, put an offer on the table worthy of a discussion and off we go. Similarly, if you’re Isak don’t come out with some bollocks about wanting to explore options, if you want to leave come out and ****ing say it and put a transfer request in. There’s **** all stopping us from rejecting every offer that comes in under what we value him at. For what it’s worth I think even £150m is too low when you look at previous deals done elsewhere and see the numbers being paid and bandied about at the moment, we’re quite within our rights to put whatever ****ing value we want on him (within reason of course). It’s one of the few things that the PL can do absolutely **** all about so. £100m of pure profit is not something to be sniffed at. I really hope we dig in and hold out for what we should rightly be paid for him in terms of transfer fees, equally I’d love to see what plays out if the window shuts and he’s still here. One thing’s for certain, there’s likely to be more than Liverpool sniffing around him come Jan or next summer so if they want him they’d better get a wiggle on!
People keep mentioning £150m but that's fan driven. I wonder what the club will accept for him. Could be£150m but it could be less or more
Personally I put him around the £180m bracket, I’d gladly take £150m from overseas but if the dippers want him it’s £180m. Just a thought in all of this and I’ve not seen anybody ask this question or draw this comparison. How much do you think the Man City owners would start entertaining offers for Haaland for? I bet it’s a damn site more than £150m! Salah was 25 when he signed for the Dippers 8 years ago and scored 73 goals in his first 3 seasons for them, they wouldn’t have sold him for less than £150m 5 years ago…they need to give their ****ing heads a wobble!
25 mins is a long time in shlem world, he’s going to come back and tell you to fznsjdjdvskdhdh off very soon
Bayern have a bid for Woltemade rejected. They've been told to bid €75m but Bayern won't. **** off Isak. Get in Woltemade.
Liam join the dots is reporting that the recruitment team is in favour of replacing him. This suggests to me they know they can get a better player or at least something very good. If pool pay like 120 just get rid of the ****er... Give him what he wants and hope he ends up failing there. Bring the bastard here for the home game vs them.. There's a real opportunity for us there.. An opportunity to land a very big blow.
We cannot sell Isak to Liverpool now as it will make us look weak. It sets a precedent and means other players will know they will get what they want if they do the same.
