42 goals between them last season (36 League, 6 Cup), I can see the appeal of putting them back together again. But not sure how well they'd perform against Premiership defenders?
The way it's going with BR we could have a team in the premiership next season...he's got DG,rumour says after AM and MS,who's next...have to rename Swansea...Watford MK2!!!!!
must be something in the Welsh air! Btw, if you haven't already seen it, i found this interesting, and rather surprising...SD defending Sordell's penalty style http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9414865.Dyche_defends_Sordell_s_penalty_style/
Always preferred the Peter Lorimer style of penalty taking! If the goalie gets in the way ,then he ends up in the net with the ball
That was my style when i was young too. Hit it as hard as you can right down the middle of the goal. If the keeper gets something on it, it will likely force him in or go through his hand.
If I remember rightly, that was also Ian Bolton's style. Luther used to start with his back to the keeper - the first part of his run-up was the turn so it's difficult to judge which way the taker is thinking of putting it. I played at left-back so was never allowed anywhere near taking penalties.
Speaking as an ex-keeper, I'd say that you'd be found out quick smart! Keepers do actually have homework to do, and it includes building their own dossier on opposition penalty takers! I own up to having made some right howlers in open play, but my penalty save record was over 60% - simply because I studied the opposition and could predict what they'd do. As for straight down the middle being best - well, think for a minute, what's the thickest part of your body & how easy is it to get it behind the ball?
Yeah, i would not do it if it was anything like professional or semi-prof. This was simply the school kick around on a saturday morning.

Maybe this is the new money coming into the club. Bas will leave the Bentley behind and charge for parking.
