Agree. The “Project” was to give the youngsters a run out and they seem to have surprised everyone by leading 0-2 at HT. Sadly, and probably not surprisingly, they conceded quickly and lost 3-2. Guess this is ok if it were a friendly match. But I feel for the traveling fans who paid money and gave up much time to see a genuine competitive Cup game. They have a right to be disappointed. The Trading Standards could genuinely issue a fine for product misrepresentation. I can only hope that a genuine first team is much more competitive at Watford and gets a result. Think is rather needed to clear the air.
I get blooding a few players close to the first team squad but yesterday was pointless. If two of yesterdays debutants are in the starting squad in 4-years time the club have succeeded, thats how far off they are. As you've said, there are enough first-teamers who need miles in their legs.
Its like every manager we ever haves sole aim is to piss off supporters and get sacked. When your win percentage is 0, I suggest trying to win a few games.
l can’t believe what l’m seeing…. l went off to work after seeing we were two up at halftime, hence my quip about a cup run! What the fcuk happened? Anybody & everybody wants to win a match, especially so that we have been crap of late. Can’t believe this. I was in a jovial mood all day for fcukin nothing.
Fully agrees. Think it should be a no-brainer. Not only for the manager, but for the morale of the team and squad. Not to mention the fans. A role of a leader or manager is to increase the motivation and morale. Here we are slowly creating unnecessary pressure. Plus, not very clever from a PR point of view.
Totally agree, get stuffed by Watford and their will be serious grumblings already. If Plymouth took their chances score would have been a total embarrassment.
Could have given, Cook, Madsen, Celar, Adamson, a run out for half a game yesterday. If you're resting players after 1 ****ing game then it's going to be a long hard season.
This is what i don't get.... it's ok to have some youngsters involved but it needed some old heads our there down the spine of the team on the pitch to calm things down a bit..... Cook should have started, Field should have been on the bench to bring on at HT to sit in front of the back 4.... Celar should have played 2nd half if Burrell was only going to do 45 minutes.... Even have Chair & Madsen on bench to bring on because once they scored it was obvious there was only going to be one winner and it wasn't us....
Lads, you’ve missed the whole point of this game, the immense commercial opportunity it provides. By getting knocked out it makes our specially branded shirt a truly unique and rare object, and a possible major income stream for the club. That tiny ‘1’ on the Carabao logo on the sleeve, which only past winners can display, is a collectors dream. If, of course, we are switched on enough to make a limited edition restricted quantity available to buy at, say, £500 per shirt.
It was definitely more fun when Flav was the "Back Seat Manager", he'd have signed some Italian Fancy Dan's and had a bevvy of supermodels as mascots before throwing his toys out of the pram...
The Teddy Tardbotton pro debut shirt could be worth millions some day. Someone somewhere probably has Messi’s. Steve Hodge probably.
