Good Morning. It's Wednesday 13th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Dovbyk move doesn't have legs Leeds United's pursuit of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk appears to have hit a significant roadblock, according to reliable journalist Matteo Moretto. Despite various reports from Italy linking Leeds to a host of names including Rodrigo Muniz, Nikola Krstovic and Mehdi Taremi, Moretto has explicitly played down any real substance to the Dovbyk rumours. Speaking on YouTube, Moretto shared insights into the striker's current situation under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, indicating that a potential move to Elland Road "doesn’t look to have legs." He further clarified, stating, "Roma has not received proposals for Dovbyk as of now, and I’ve also been told the Leeds track is very cold at this moment," significantly dampening expectations among Leeds supporters for the capture of the in-demand forward. “Leeds and Dovbyk is a very cold situation, and I’ve also been told that right now, Artem Dovbyk is very, very focused on Roma. He wants to do well with Gasperini, wants to convince everyone by continuing to score goals. That’s exactly what Dovbyk has done and achieved over the past season. So Dovbyk’s focus is entirely on Roma. “We’ll see if, in the next few weeks, anything changes or if an important offer arrives. At that point, it will be up to Roma to decide which path to take with Dovbyk. But as of now, there is no indication that Leeds is seriously pursuing Dovbyk. We’ll see how discussions develop from here.” please log in to view this image Ramazani off to Rangers? Leeds United are engaged in talks with Rangers regarding a potential season-long loan for highly-rated Belgian winger Largie Ramazani. The 24-year-old, who joined from Almeria for £10 million last summer, had limited appearances last season after recovering from an ankle injury. Rumours of a disconnect between Ramazani and manager Daniel Farke have persisted, making a loan move appear increasingly likely as the club looks to bring in a marquee signing. please log in to view this image Leeds favourites to land El Khannouss According to the back pages of the papers this morning, Leeds are once again frontrunners to sign young Moroccan talent Bilal El Khannouss from Leicester City, who is looking to make a swift return to the Premier League after the Foxes' relegation. At just 21, El Khannouss showcased his skills in a struggling squad, and Leeds are reportedly willing to offer him a lucrative weekly salary of £50,000, having already initiated discussions with his representatives. However, they face competition from pulsating interest from clubs like Newcastle United, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen, all keen to secure the promising midfielder's services. please log in to view this image
Dovbyk was never really on the cards. He wants a bigger move. Ive no problem trying for him, you never know. Ramazani wont go anywhere. We spent £9 million on him. We can't afford a loss as it goes against our spending power. He might go on loan but Farke has already told the press that we are weak on the wings because we haven't replaced Solomon. He ain't going nowhere just yet. We'd need to sign two more wingers. El Khannouss is do-able if we can convince him to come. It wont be done quickly as he will wait for Spurs to try for Eze and Newcastle to try for the lad from Villa. Palace may hijack the El Khannouss deal. He is keeping his options open at the moment . If we panic and make signings this week then it will be the likes of Josh Sargent and Gus Hamer. Im happy to wait. They'll still be there in a couple of weeks.
Morning all. Got to say that I’m a little bit bored of the transfer merry go round of the same old name’s being rehashed by reporters (no dig Ell as I know it sparks debate). Just want to get started now. Lots of championship managers and pundits said last season that we had a mid table premier league team, we’ve added to that, so let’s see how much weaker we are without Solomon (the only significant loss for me), Bamford (never fit) and Joseph (who didn’t cut it last season). Any further decent additions is a bonus.
I'd be happy with Ben Doak. I'd be okay with Josh Sargent. I wouldn't be okay with both. One position needs to be a statement signing.
Morning all I was never sold on Dovbyk being the right one for us, I would have welcomed him but I am not fussed if he is not on the radar. Would like to get the Leicester lad and we must be mad to even consider a loan for Ramazani when we are short on players as it is. Ben Doak and Josh Sargent, I don't want either, we already have enough safe players, we need at least two statement players
Sargent is a different striker to what we have. We have Nmecha who is big strong and can hold the ball up. We have Piroe who likes to drop deep and play from there. A great finisher. Sargent will run in behind, can link up play and presses better than Bamford. Sargent would give us options.
It’s staggering the number of players fans reject Out of hand.and yet likely none have ever been either approached or considered joining us. Safer to wait another three weeks and a what our lords and masters manage to come up with. At least Farke had made his position quite clear by binning the obvious and insisting on new attacking options
Morning all, Just when we’re hoping for a marquee signing or two, the latest is we may choose to get rid of the extremely talented Ramazani. Pathetic.
Don’t panic. It’s a rumour started by Matt and if not rangers need help urgently to try get runner spot in SPL this season
I think all things considered and being realistic how would people be if we signed Maitlan-Niles, El Khannouss, Doak & one of Calvert-Lewin/Sargent and got rid of Ramazani. Could see us getting all those over the line and Farke isn’t keen on Ramazani so I think the left hand side is for Gnoto and Harrison.
Best read this morning was Lineker stating why Leeds would be stupid to get Calvin-Lewin and then another interview with Rio Ferdinand also saying Leeds would be mad to bring in Calvert-Lewisn So that means ELL could be right ffs
Still a personal favourite of mine would be Reiss Nelson from Arsenal, played at premier league level. Don’t want Harrison but not for the reason mentioned, I just don’t think he’s very good and can remember the amount of times he frustrated me. However it’s not looking like he’s being much sought after so we could be stuck with him.
