You can’t blame Still for this. Absolutely lack of effort from the players. We all thought that side looked good. Lazy, disinterested crap. Wood is awful. Edwards is rubbish. Suga is a joke. Fernandes looks unfit or like he doesn’t care. Downs, BBD and Archer all pants.
Too early to pass judgement on Downs. He’s obviously struggling a bit right now, but let’s see how he goes once he’s got a goal under his belt. BBD is just the worst though. Tragic. Time for Will to earn his money - they are all a bit can’t be arsed tonight.
The only interesting fact for me of that first half was discovering l am watching the game through a Bulgarian TV channel.
At risk of upsetting people that was utterly dreadful. Bar a few flashes very poor and comfortably second best imo. Northampton have more energy than us and are winning basically every second ball. Been really impressed with them tbh, you can definitely see their manager in the way they approach the game. Can't see that they can keep that pace up though so still think we'll win this. Get one and they'll fold most likely. Diaz and Downs have offered basically nothing. The former in particular really is an awful footballer. Surely we'll move to a back 4 pretty sharpish?
Downs looking like headless chicken currently. Hope we haven's got another dud striker, albeit he didn't cost 20mil! Early days, and he showed he could finish against Espanyol. All the team pretty much poor though.
Genuinely no idea how BBD scored a goal every 2 games when he went back to Sheff United on loan in the PL in Jan 2023. He looks unbelievably bad.
Not upsetting this happy clapper. We were awful. Though in true happy clapper fashion, I will say that football is a game of two halves.
I am missing my Tuesday night paint drying for this. Today was going to be blue, and I wanted to see if it dried paler. I suspect it would as it goes on quite dark but the colour on the pot is more of a sky blue. I might try to get a bit of paint on second half as a way to up the excitement level a bit.
Can't argue with any of that. These players are really really poor. We're going to have to watch these donkeys for an entire season. Downs, BBD and Archer. A complete triumvirate of turd. Won't get 10 goals between them this year.
This reminds me of so many early cup round games I have been to over the years. Saints players looking like they were picked out of the crowd, having never met each other before. Totally different players over the years, but always play like this. I could pick half a dozen of my WF players who would have had the ball in the net, unlike Downs. Embarrassing!
