Bissouma dropped from the squad for disciplinary reasons… happened under Ange too. Think we’ll see him leave this summer. Edit: Frank - “He's been late several times and now this time the latest time was one too many. With everything you need to give your players a lot of love. There need to be demands and consequences and this time there was a consequence”.
Solanke available for selection, Udogie not quite yet. So I’m assuming a back four of Porro, Romero, van de Ven and Spence. Could easily stick van de Ven LB and Danso alongside Romero if looking for a more “defensive defence”.
Frank’s basically said the captain for tomorrow will be his new captain. Leadership team to be announced later in the month.
He has displayed a lack of discipline on and off the field. The ridiculous sendings off, the repeated failure to track his opponent back, and his repeated lateness (that happened under Ange too I seem to remember). It's not even as if the guy has performed with any degree of consistency and has singularly failed to reach the level he had at Brighton. I thought he was lucky to survive last year. He needs to go - and quickly.
That rules out Bissouma then! Seriously though, I'm hoping the rumours aren't correct and he doesn't give it to Vicario. Not a fan of GK captains at the best of times, but he has not demonstrated any of the qualities (e.g. mouthing off at young players mid-game) and he might well not even be first choice keeper pretty soon.
Won't happen but I'd give it to Porro. One of the few consistently good performers. Now has a solid amount of experience at the club. Impeccable disciplinary and injury record. Seems to be very popular among the squad and with the fans. I can't think of anyone else who ticks more boxes tbh.
