A trip to Vicarage Rd gives both teams a chance to get a win this season, after both teams suffering a defeat on Saturday.
A competition City have won on 2 occasions in 62 and 85

I hope the yellow brick road will be welcoming, and I'll still be standing, and City won't go breaking my heart, and we can feel the love tonight, and we don't sacrifice this game, as sorry seems to be the hardest word. We are not a candle in the wind so don't let the sun go down on me,because that's why they call it the blues.

If Manning means what he says about accelerating integration and understanding, both of his tactics and how each other play, why wouldn't he put out much the same starting eleven as Saturday? He's got a big bench to call on, and ample time for substitutions later in the game.

For me, the main reason is to not risk injuries to our key players and to avoid 3 games in a week when we have a big squad and new players needing match fitness. Topić tired in his 70 minute stint on Saturday. Let Núñez start and Topić come on as sub and the same for Kvistgaarden/Sargent or Makama, Diallo/Crnac, Jurásek/Forson, Fisher/Stacey and Crisene/Schlupp. Schwartau and Marcondes also need match fitness. There's more logic in keeping the back 3 together to develop understanding and still give McConville game time later. It'll be interesting to see what Manning decides to do.

    This is from the BBC,

    Manning:

    • On the EFL Cup, Manning said he likes to rotate his squad for knockout competitions. He added that it will be a blend of first-team and fringe players
    • "I'll do everything I can to pick a team that can win," said Manning, who added that he will not belittle the tournament by selecting an under-strength side
    • Damn bullet points, I can't get rid them.
    • He also said Kvistgaaren is pushing for a start in this game. Let's see what he can do.

    Confirmed by the Pinkun:

"Amankwah Forson has been ruled out of Norwich City’s League Cup midweek trip to Watford with a hamstring injury. The attacking midfielder had impressed Liam Manning in pre-season and started the Championship opener against Millwall before a second half exit. Forson is set for further scans later on Monday afternoon to assess the extent of his potential lay-off.

“Obviously we need to wait for the result of the scan but he did pick up a hamstring injury. He won't be available (for Watford). It's a blow for him. It's disappointing for us. He showed some really good signs in pre-season of progress and understanding what we were trying to get him to do. It's extremely unfortunate but obviously what it does now is open up the door for somebody else to have an opportunity."

In view of your last para budgieassumereallyacanary, if Norwich City have a shred of anti-pun decency they will offer to concede tomorrows game
