    Rebellion Day 1:

I am bollocksed. On top of various longstanding health woes, Ive picked up a vicious summer cold, causing me to lose my voice.

Still managed 13 hours yesterday!! Trained soldier, me. Despite myself, I enjoyed Elvana A LOT, again. Like me, they are really infectious. I love bands who are obviously having the best time. Twat Union were really good, as were The Priscillas, John McKeay's Reactor - same vocalist, this time with original Siouxsie & TB guitarist, from first 2 albums) UK Subs and pick of the bunch...The Mellencolins.

BnB is teeeeny, tiny and the breakfast eggs were cooked for about 2 weeks too long in oil that the worst chippy changed out a decade or so ago. Mrs B has finally put her foot down. Next year, it's The Holiday Inn (not Cambodia) and breakfasts from a very nice Italian café.

Laters, good people....and pray to your deity for what's left of me, come Monday.

    Rebellion Day 2:

Haven't left the BnB yet. Had the scrambled eggs (v. nice) and been sleeping them (and this cold) off ever since.

In exchange for the promise of McVities bourbon biscuits, have reserved 2 of The Damned Rebellion t shirts from the merch stall. Off soon to see Wonk Unit, The Meffs, ANWL, The Undertones and our boys. It finishes at 01.00. I shall be well and truly finished well before that.

    Onwards!!!

03.32 I'm exhausted and in pain and can't sleep.

    Great night, though.

Tomorrow may be a bit tricky...

Got The Damned t shirts and a Mars Bar style logo Undertones one. Very stylish...in fact, so stylish that they've been in storage in Derry for decades.

A young lady was carried, unconscious, out of the mosh pit during The Damned set. I was on the rail (silly old fool!) and it didn't look good, as she went past me. I hope she's OK.

You really are a trouper. I stopped going to gigs when I realised I couldn't sit down and enjoy it, nearly coming to blows at a Tears for Fears gig with the guy who moved to stand in front of me.

When Dave walks out towards the audience, if you spot a huge bloke with pink leopard print hair and quiff (0.46), take pity on him...he knows no better.

I struggle to get past 10, and if I do I'm wiped out the day after! <laugh>

Many a time lately I've been coming home as the kids are going out. Oh the joys of getting old .....

    Good morning from Blackpool!

    The final day!!!

Yesterday was a day of really high highs - seeing The Mob's first proper gig in 9 years - and they were properly ****ing brilliant. Also got to meet Mark Wilson and hold the front page...had a photo taken with him. I must have been truly overcome by the experience. He had to be persuaded to leave his commune and do the gig, but he looked very happy at the end.

Also got to have a really decent chat with TV Smith, another hero...and just the nicest man. I'm not normally one for meeting people who are my heroes, but he is a true gent. Also, on that front, met Roman Jugg, former Damned/Naz Nomad & The Nightmares/Phantom Chords member and he invited me and Mrs B for a beer with him and his Mrs...

Musically, PiL were the 'big ticket' act of the day. I made it through 2/3rds of their set beore having to admit physical exhaustion after 12 hours. Despite myself, I rather enjoyed what I saw. He is an insufferable prick...but they are a great live act.

One more day...with an early start for Banjoey Ramone and a late finish with Wreckless Eric. Boots on...Hey! Ho! Let's Go!

    I made it!!

Four full days at Rebellion...well, it has to be admitted that people could see us sneaking out before the end - Wreckless Eric will have to happen another day.

Banjoey Ramone were great fun, as were Menace, Henry Cluney, Voodoo Radio and the final ever performance of Spunk Volcano & The Eruptions.

Bands of the day were The Derellas, 8 Kalacas (insanely genius and huge fun) and Millie Manders & The Shutup.

Met friends old and new. Laughed my tits off numerous times and was told, at least a dozen times, by ageing local ladies, how much they loved my pink leopard print hair. Mts B approached regularly for photos, as usual.

It shouldn't be possible to have this much fun for £230.

A few mates in that little lot.

We don't spend a lot of time in the square. It's a faff going in and out of The Winter Gardens, so we only go out to eat and to go home, especially now I don't drink and am dalek-like in my inability to do stairs.

If there's any interest in posting/dm-ing some of our Rebellion pics, I'll do it. Train pulling into Euston in 5 minutes...
