Would argue that Oslo was the closest we've been. But there is momentum now to recognise a Palestinian state and act on it, like a lot of leaders have pointed out 'before there isn't a Palestine to recognise' There's no peace for Israel until Palestinians have statehood and the ability to determine their own affairs. This isn't a knee jerk reaction to punish Israel and reward Hamas, it's a decades long issue and it is THE one issue the underpins the whole thing
