My information is that the decision may not have been entirely mutual. Concerns have been expressed about a relatively junior member of the backroom staff travelling to away games on the team coach, as well as other alleged examples of high handedness. It wouldn’t surprise me if some within the club have wanted to go in a different direction, away from where one employee attracts so much attention on herself.
This doesn't sound good. And the bland website piece was as unconvincing as anything I've read on there over the past 10 years. It may be a storm in a teacup, but I'm still not convinced everything is as rosy at CAFC as it's being painted. Sure, promotion was a terrific achievement. But that doesn't mean our troubles are over. Only a fool would think it does. PS: I know I've done it again Elfs, but Tracey Leaburn is definitely not off-topic, even if she is leaving the Club...
Not criticising your thread starting Elfs. Everyone here is welcome to start a thread on any subject There's only one rule - anything that will divide opinion on party political lines goes in the Current affairs & politics thread. All other subjects - whether they are football, Charlton, or not - are open for discussion and thread creation. Don't worry about what certain others think of the way we do things here. If they really cared they would engage and post, not carp from a distance My PS earlier was only about the following; The green 'OFF TOPIC' thread header only need be used when the thread being started is not about football (or sport in general) or Charlton. Tracey Leaburn and what's going on surrounding her departure from CAFC is definitely on topic. So I removed the off-topic header. So please keep creating threads for whatever you wish to discuss. I hope more information comes out about Tracey Leaburn's departure. We'll have to judge for ourselves what might have some truth in it or what is merely speculation. As mentioned, personally I'm concerned. And I think there may well be more coming out on this story, so the subject definitely deserves a thread of its own.
Good, CL got silly. Anybody would think Curbs had been sacked. She may have had the right intentions but she had a job created that was not necessary. 35k drained for nothing.
I don't know CL very well, haven't been there for while. But where a large number of fans get together long-term online there is bound to be a lot of emotion-driven posting. And the larger the community, the more that will feed off itself. Not saying that's a good or bad thing. Just the nature of fans. Your post offers some questions about the running of CAFC as a commercial entity. I imagine if this forum had (let's say) ten times the number of regular contributors as it currently does, there might be scope for a thread on the Business side of Charlton Athletic, and where members think money is being well or poorly spent. Anyone could set such a thread up now if they wanted to. I'm not sure it would get a lot of contributions though. The proportion of supporters who like to talk about the business aspects of the Club is relatively small compared to those who only really care much about the footballing side of things. Especially when (as far as we can tell) the business side of things is not being operated by total idiots at present. The Club has long term problems to solve, the obvious one being the ticking count-down to a potential future that doesn't include the Valley. But that issue will surface in its own good time, and I'm sure all of us will have plenty to say about it when it does.
