So a lot of mins in the legs of what you would think is the starting eleven today, then a full 90 mins for the bench tomorrow, so they should be ready as well. The two games in two days makes sense.
Be interesting what we do with them, jones has a lot of interest in him so I reckon he will go out on loan
He did that excellently today, every time he dropped deep back to goal and held off defenders then either turning them or playing it into the wings. He's a very talented 20 year old. His finishing could be better, he doesn't excel at that one touch type finish. But if he was class at that as well, he wouldn't be here.
Will be interesting what clubs we trust with them. Seems mad typing that, but these young lads need "footballing" clubs
True but we are going to need that one touch type finishing next season. We are gonna have so few chances and they need taken. Suppose we will see how Guiu does as he’s supposed to more of an out and out 9 who thrives at that stuff
Remain a bit disappointed that we haven’t tried to go with more of a forward type player as the 10 this summer at some point. There’s something there I’m sure of it.
Not many teams have that tbh, Mayenda still needs to improve his body shape when going to shoot - it'll help open up the goal for him more I eas actually really encouraged by his 2nd half performance. As with all strikers he will need an early goal this season to help settle him
Yeah, but I’d this was part of our plan for the season I’d expect RLB would have tried it. Certainly would have given it more than the dregs at the end of a game.
It'll be horses for courses mate. There will be games and situations that suit each of our 3 strikers and there may even be times where we play 2. If we signed an out and out first choice striker, then Mayenda's opportunities go in the bin which would be madness imo. Him and Rigg are the 2 players who can develop way beyond where we are even now imo.
Jensen so good in possession, looks a natural footballer, was a stand out for the 21s last year. Be interesting to see what level he goes out at.
I’d also like us to have a really competitive u21 team for their league season. Hard one to decide on because it’s usually better for development if playing in senior football, think that’s why we usually promote 18 year olds to the u21s and loan the older lads out.
He’s on the end of chances that’s the good thing with him, the goals will come I’ve every faith in him, doesn’t let his head drop either
Exactly this. I’ve said it lots of times in the past that I know nowt about tactics or anything else. I enjoy the spectacle of watching SAFC and more so watching them win. If the club think that Mayenda is worth a five year contract then I’ll trust their judgement.
