I have always got internet connection at The Valley okay. I would have thought they have a wifi with code that can be used.
A great start, even if the performance was a little iffy. We will get better and stronger in time. I'm not convinced by Campbell: there's a fine player in there, yet he seems to make too many errors. I liked Apter, but I think he would be better served on the left, his natural side. Leaburn came on and caused them all sorts of problems. All in all, an excellent day.
Watford will class this as a bad result. We need to be at LEAST not losing to teams like this at home for us to have a chance of staying up. This can be classed as a good day at the office.
A home record of something along the lines of 9/6/8 I'd like to think would be enough to keep us up - maybe. Who knows
It's all about how many away games you win. Generally speaking the teams in the relegation area will have similar home records. If you can win four away games that will give you a fighting chance of staying up, imo that is.
I think Bell looked iffy a few times , bit slow and nearly got caught out a couple of times - Apter looked good and then of course Knibbs came on and got the winner
Very much a 'first game of the season' sort of day. Nobody really knew quite what to expect. Me more than most, as I haven't been there since November 2022. I didn't even know we had some of those animated hoardings around the pitch (albeit some not working too well!) Great atmosphere - for sure. Around 18,000 in the ground I would say. Great result - absolutely. Wasn't much between the teams, I would have settled for 0-0 but the late rally topped off a good day. Watford looked a poorer team after their substitutions I thought. First half, gripping. Second half more patchy and stop-start. Three points We're on our way. I have missed this. Glad I decided to come back.
Always nice to see Chrissy Powell. His tunnel jump was super. A true Addicks legend. I had a really lovely day with laddo. I'm feeling fine this evening.
I've now finished the handbook/programme. Very impressive production - a bargain at six quid. The records section is excellent. Are you sure you had no hand in it, Lardi?
Sadly no - I'm a spare time amateur statto, but I admire the professionals. Was going to buy a handbook, but didn't take any cash (or my wallet) with me when I walked to the ground. I think they can be ordered online?
