Is it me or is this trip to Germany baffling and confusing, seeing the first team board the plane for tomorrows game I assume they won’t be involved 24 hours later, in a game at HOME at the SoL helping players get used to the pitch and surroundings 6 days before the season opener against West Ham at HOME!!!!!
strange idea this 2 games in 2 days not bothering with the Sunday game after the 'mile long' queue before the Betis game and who will be playing ?, a defender signed today thankfully.
it’s utterly stupid from the club. Some properly alienated players told they’re not in the “first team”. Gonna be a long season with a big squad needed and we’ve decided to take a “first team and the rest” approach. the games should have been 48 hours apart to allow the likes of Le Fee, Roberts and Neil to be on the bench with the “first team” and then start for the “reserves”
we’ve taken an approach of wanting to get the “first team” as used to each other as possible to build connections. And completely neglected the squad as a whole. Roberts hasn’t played a minute with the “first team” and he’s one tight calf for Talbi away from starting at West Ham
Fair enough mate, but can’t get my head around the lack of opportunity this new squad has had to play at the SoL,getting a feel for the place before the big test 6 days later in the same stadium
Augsburg played Crystal Palace twice in the same day last week. 2 separate teams. Also playing today and tomorrow. We both like to mix it up with pre season
Over the years we have not played many friendlies at home so most players will have had the chance to play at least one.
