The status quo is changing. Lib Dem’s and Greens gaining ground. Reform leading the way.

I know a lot can happen in the next 4 years and some people dismiss these polls, but they’re a good indicator as to public opinion. Unless Starmer goes radical and clamps down on immigration properly by ignoring the ECHR, then Farage is a banker, imo.

Starmer might do just that as it gets closer to the time. I believe he’s a man that will do anything to fend off a revolt and cling to power. We’ve already seen glimpses of it with all of his flip flopping.

Nobody really cares about the economy, now. It’s all about immigration. ‘Smashing the gangs’ was always doomed to fail and we are seeing record number of crossings this year. If he sorts that out, he’ll pull it back for Labour.

I bet he regrets pulling the Rwanda scheme now, theirs a good chance that would have improved things a lot and he might be sitting in a very different place.

If I heard the news this morning correctly things aren’t as clear as it’s being made out to be.
The one in one out scheme can’t go ahead for 3 months but is supposed to be starting now.
So we will probably go 3 months with the one in one out scheme and then after 3 months the human rights lawyers are going to say it’s illegal to deport them and we will be stuck with all of them.
It’s a totally s hit scheme and they know it.

    Yep. Ridiculous.

As soon as I heard that slogan of ‘smash the gangs’ I instantly compared it to the war on drugs. If you remove one gang, there’s another 10 waiting to take its place. It can’t be won.

The illegals have to understand when they get here, they’ll have zero chance of being granted asylum. No hotels, basic rations and an instant deportation. That’s the only way to stop them coming here.

The way I heard on news this morning , having given France 50 names , they then have 2, weeks to respond. Then , if agreed , the paperwork could take 2 months. Even the news said that then the legal people will be in to block. We all knew the human rights lawyers will be lapping up the prospect of extra business. Lawyer “ his mental health may suffer “. Judge ,” oh of course , I believe it , ok right then , just stay”

I heard Cooper say it would be quick... I'm sure I've said previously, that 2 months is probably quick for a government :emoticon-0103-cool:

Edit: watch boat crossings ramp up now in these next couple of months <doh>

Wasn't it Starmer as a human rights lawyer that fought for illegal migrants to get benefits and won. Well the black hole is 50 billion now so they have stopped a lot of projects planned to pay for the migrants, and the black hole is increasing massively every week with no end in sight.

This morning on the news the lass whose in charge of getting a better deal for people who’s renting just kicked her own tenants out and added another £700 to the monthly rent<laugh>
Then the lass came on who’s getting a better deal for energy, telling the bbc that they want everyone to have smart meters. She got told there is already 3.5 million with broken ones that need replacing but nobody will touch them.
She reckons there is going to be a new rule where a meter has packed up that it must be mended or replaced within 90 days<laugh> yes you read correctly 90 days<laugh><laugh>
I give up watching after that, to embarrassing.
