Think kudos has to be given to the new brains team here, in the interview with McBurnie he mentioned how Dublin was constantly in touch with him, like a dog with a bone. To actually assemble a squad looking more and more capable under such restrictions is no mean feat. Well done to all involved, and if Gelhardt is done and dusted that just tops it all with the cherry.

Oh I don't know, I suppose it made sense to him on Sunday when he told us that if McBurnie wanted to come he'd have signed by then. He also said McBurnie is a mercenary and a big time Charlie, and he could **** off. As McBurnie himself said 'it's nice to feel wanted'. That is all. :emoticon-0138-think

Noticed Williams is still training with us despite the reported interest from elsewhere. Still with the squad 2 days before a match day doesn't suggest he's going anywhere else imminently but just an educated guess.

I think it will, and even more so if the restriction is lifted and we go for Frigan.

He'll be on a decent wage I'd imagine, probably the sameish as what we're paying Leeds for Gelhardt.

    I'm sorry but I disagree.

I'm willing to grant Acun a reprieve if he demonstrates he has really learned his lesson this Summer/past season and is fully committed to the running of this club in a sustainable way for the future.

We've had a great window given our circumstances but let's be realistic for a moment. I'll echo sentiments already made on here; from the transfers we've made, were we in a position where we could be spending money, would we be as happy with Famewo, Ajayi and Lundstram on loans and frees? Would Oli McBurnie be a seemingly centrepiece, unbelieveable signing? No, probably not. We would probably have been happy to take him as capable back up to somebody like Frigan or another striker. Now, I'm not saying he's a bad player or a bad signing. Because we are in a situation whereby we've been put under embargo and punished by the EFL. Embargo has gone, sure, but the punishment for having "cash flow problems" remains. That shouldn't be happening, mistake or not. The opportunity for a mistake like "not paying a transfer fee" shouldn't arise, as bullshit of an excuse as that is because in the real world, there's only one reason fees don't get paid and it isn't because the admin assistant forgot to click "send" on the HSBC app. Regardless, even if that was the case, it still shouldn't happen because why are we doing deals and making promises to other clubs based on intangibly valued income? "I'm owed this so I'll pay you when I get it" might convince your mate in the pub to fund your beers for the night, I find it hard to believe it convinced Aston Villa's owner or MBS (or whoever is their director of football these days) to part with players.

Sustainable, well run clubs don't have cash flow problems. They don't have big holes in their bank accounts where transfer funds from other clubs should be nor run everything off of prospective income and valuations. The EFL, massive ballbags as they are, don't step in unless something is very wrong. To those of us who waved the flag all those months ago, this Summer came as no shock. The reality hasn't changed, we're still in a lot of debt and I guess we'll see when the accounts come out what the actual figure and damage is (and who it is owed to).

Our wages to turnover ratio is 143%, second only to WBA and just above PNE- for context, when we were in the **** under Duffen, our wages to turnover ratio was below 100%, even with parachute payments and we were still in financial trouble then. We also had a higher ratio following our relegation in 2016/17, but again that was offset by parachute payments. To have a wage bill that's 143% larger than your income isn't sustainable if your owner isn't printing money like the Saudis/Americans do. So news that McBurnie has just signed a lucrative, three year contract that makes him our highest paid player by quite some distance doesn't send me cartwheeling down Whitefriargate with joy.

We don't know how this season is going to go. At the moment, this manager has as much experience in the Championship as Tim Walter did and Walter had £28m worth of signings behind him. I have faith he'll do well, but that doesn't really change what's gone on behind the scenes.

It looks better than it did eight months ago but this hasn't just magically gone away I'm afraid.

There’s a lot of people speaking with authority about what the EFL’s intentions and motives are for giving us punishments.

Does anyone genuinely believe there’s any more to it than the simple fact of: we broke the rules - we got the punishment for breaking them?

We were late paying the butcher the baker and the candlestick maker. We owed Aston Villa some money but they owed us more. And some other alleged stuff.

Gelhardt behind McBurnie, with some decent wingers either side is seriously exciting. Really looking forward to the new season now

Seen far worse in my time supporting City. Will still be going no matter what, If Acun went the hell would buy us? Don’t own a stadium, a somewhat fickle fan base, local media which would have everybody believe the biggest clubs in .hull are the rugby ones…

Disagree - Mcburnie is the first proper centre forward we've signed in ages

    Worse take ever

Person who bought our club from the last horrendous owners and has put loads of his own money in reminds you of someone who has been sued for racial discrimination, found liable for sexually abusing someone, regularly hung around with friends who were ****philes, mocks disabled people by mimicking their physical disabilities, states that you have to treat women like **** and has bragged about grabbing them by the pussy, discusses going out with his own daughter and misused money raised for a charity…

    **** off

I like how you highlighted the first bit and conveniently ignored the context after it like the massive pleb you are. Well done.
