I’ve think the club will play him as much, or as little as they choose … … and pay whatever penalties are incurred.
It's entirely possible that if we accept a clause to say he plays a certain number of matches,we counter that with a clause on the number of goals he gets. No wonder these deals take so long to get done......something like that could well be the reason for the slight delay in this lad arriving.
If our management are happy with the arrangement thatll do for me - Nobody knows how many games/apps it is and also what other caveats there is Really not worth worrying about imo
yeh I get it, I trust the club. I’m also just not confident that this guy is what we need up front anyway and think we may struggle for goals. But I trust the club and hope he proves me wrong.
I think one more top forward and we will be fine. struggled slightly for goals but once the season rolls around we will be playing with a much higher intensity and desire.
The club have earned our trust mate,I'm confident in their judgement. We're going to need 50 goals and they'll be well aware of it.
Wonder if it’s a late addition based on possibility of us signing another striker, delay coincided with a burst of speculation about Garcia and our intentions to sign another forward.
The reason I'm confident in Guiu is purely because of his style; he's an out-and-out 9, no winger hybrid. He's at his best when the ball is in the box, which's what we need. The amount of crosses this pre-season and last season where the ball comes in and the striker has been in the wrong place or hasn't attacked it is concerning. Hopefully, Guiu has that natural knack of knowing where to be. He also doesn't stop running and pressing, apparently.
agreed. also only takes a handful of important goals for him to be worth it, id rather worry about points winning goals than having a striker score bags of goals when we are already 4-0 down
I agree but I'd like to see it in action for us first rather than how he played at other teams - Think your right about more crosses too, the key will be that underlap by one the CM's or Fullbacks then ball across been a feature in pre season but we are yet to convert one
The key for Guiu, by the sounds of it, will be getting off the mark relatively quickly and not letting his head drop of he doesnt.
We have a good start on paper. If he can’t impress v the likes of West Ham, Burnley & Brentford, then I struggle to see where he’d impress up front to be honest.
Mayenda, for all his quality, really doesn’t anticipate the crosses enough. He’s a bit slow to react, and premier league defenders are just that little bit quicker to anticipate the crosses. We need someone who’ll be much more alive to balls in the box. Guiu seems to have that about him according to reports.
