Yeah that would really worry me, he’d be targeted. Fingers crossed for a transfer breakthrough this week
This all happened whilst I was on my exile so never got to share my thoughts on it. I ****ing love it. Genuinely think we might have one going to the very very top.
Yeh and you can see from all the highlight videos how good he is at shot stopping. What I wasn't sure about was how calm and composed he is, or how good with ball at feet, how authoritive on crosses etc. And from an admittedly limited sample he passed the eye test with flying colours at the weekend.
Totally, I'm the same as you where I just don't like saying we are desperate It's the area we need to strengthen the most but it has to be with quality. Ben Mee was limked end of last week and some mentioned that he would be a good signing, signings like that are exactly what we don't need. CB and CM are the areas where newly promoted teams really struggle to strengthen imo, CM I am buzzinh about and it's our strongest position group by a mile imo. CB most be addressed but the club know that Last I heard was we had 2 big offers out for 2 CBs, reading between the lines I think they were Lucumi and Diakite - hopefully can get both done, even 1 is a cracking start
The club have done really well this summer but I do think if we go into the West Ham game with either Seelt at cb or Jones (and to a lesser extent Huggins) at left back then Speakman/Ghisolfi will have come up short for RLB in that area and I would think the same if we were in the Championship let alone the Prem. Not saying the window would ultimately be a failure or anything like that (i'm very happy with where we are right now) but centre half really needs to be addressed before West Ham imo and I'd struggle to find many excuses for why at least one centre back wasnt brought in before then. For what its worth, I cant see us being left in the scenario I mention above, I think we'll have at least one centre back in this week, even if they cant feature at the weekend.
Yeh its the word I don't like - I think I explain why in the first paragraph. To me there's a difference between really needing something and being desperate for it.
There will definitely be Sunderland supporters there. It's just that they will not suffer from the personal insecurity which obliges so many Saudi supporters to wear a sweaty, (they're all sweaty!) football top all day long
