i think it shows everything you need to say about mcburnie the fact that his previous 2 clubs are both wanting him to sign this summer... (blunts and las palmas) he offers so so much more than goals
How can it still be ‘progressing’? We’ve offered him a lucrative contract and gave him a deadline. What else needs to be done other than him signing the contract?
I assumed the signing of Detsan would put an end to wanting both. Hard to manage game time for McBurnie, Frigan, Destan and Joseph if we somehow pull it off. Especially as we've played one up top most of pre season.
Nixon has recently posted that EFL have given the all clear to make the move. Maybe that only got confirmed today?
In an alternate universe where we sign both, Joseph would be off I presume, given the likelihood of that is probably in negative equity I doubt his squad place will be under threat.
I'm not sure we need too much more after Mcburnie. A decent holding midfielder the obvious priority, but i'd be happy if that was the only other addition. An upgrade on Palmer in the 10 would be nice, as would Frigan/Zambrano. But even if they don't happen I think it would've been a good window
Frigan next summer but after seeing that first goal he scored unless we are fired to playoffs by the big Jak he’ll be onto bigger things
Surely we can’t justify having both and keeping Joseph. Wed suddenly be very top heavy in attack and very light in midfield. We really need to look at that area of the pitch. We’re still lacking mobility and depth in that area.
reading between the lines to me it seems regardless of mcburnie signing, we will be trying for frigan again dependant on wednesday waiting till next summer would make it not possible
I think I read that SJ has been known to use two up top at previous clubs. Also, if the ban gets reduced, with the wingers coming in/and coming back, would it be such a surprise to see us try and get our money back on Kamara to help finance a Frigan deal - which might meet the EFL's approval (I can't imagine we're getting away with not having their approval for deals a while).
Frigan can play on the right as an inside forward too. He’s a very mobile striker who can dribble. If we didn’t already loan out Burstow and sign Destan and didn’t have a game on Saturday, I probably would’ve waited until we got a decision by the appeal panel before deciding on McBurnie or Frigan. I think Frigan is a ‘now or never’ situation. If he has a good start to the season in Belgium, his price will go up in January and he’ll have bigger clubs after him.
I thought it was interesting in Destans interview he said Sergej asked him if he can score 5/6 goals. To me that would suggest he's going to be used as an impact sub
Has had previous success as one for Trabz. 9 goals 4 assists in 30 odd appearances and only 13 of them were starts
