I agree that we are desperate for centre backs but more importantly the recruitment team may not be. Meaning that they may have a plan. Waiting for a club to sign a replacement but already done, waiting for a key date, things we can’t see or know as fans.
RLB has already said that they are aware and it’s our priority so I reckon so. Just hope they are in soon
You'd assume Regis doesn't say stuff like this without being very confident it will happen. He's very tight lipped about transfer business (although his face often gives it away).
Supporters are always 'desperate' for more/better players, no matter how many we sign. If we don't sign more/better we'll have to play with what we have, just as every other team has to do.
I’ve said a number of times I want him replaced. Great player on his day, seems like a lovely lad, but not convinced he can physically/mentally achieve his capabilities
Very true but the club have upgraded everywhere else and we know we need it in defence too. Be very strange if we all of a sudden didn’t. So I’d expect us to
It'll be borderline tragic if Neil moves on because he wouldn't sign a new contract and we've bought replacements in the meantime. Imagine being a Sunderland fan from a young age, getting to play for the club, helping us get promoted twice and being made captain in the process, reaching the pinnacle of English football then ****ing everything up because the money offered wasn't acceptable to you. I don't know if he's more to blame or his agent but it's a sad situation.
It’s really annoying. That’s Neil and Stewart both great servants unerpaid by the club and not the clubs fault.
I think we will and fully expecting a PL loan in defence plus a signing ... ... I lost faith in Mepham before the playoffs, at the same time RLB did I think, so I hope they're better than him.
Well, I'm in my early 40s and at 6'3" I can confirm the very same back trouble.... i hate dropping stuff on the floor.lol
Think he might cost too much, they paid 20m and although he hasn’t established himself he’s done well when called upon. Left footed and would certainly be first choice here so would be a great signing but reckon they’d want 35m or so.
He's been part of the Chelsea squad, played in the World Cup thingy, given holiday time with everyone else and back to work this weekend. I think we'll see him on the bench for West Ham or shortly after.
Had a few drinks here but very excited for this season after seeing today’s performance, doesn’t feel like we’re far away at all from a decent premier league team.
