A good, solid 4-0 win, even though I thought Real were pretty poor. Jury still out on Twine for me, he just isn’t strong enough, nor creative enough for me. Nothing to show Sincs has improved with his sub appearance… Redprintt won’t like it, but Anis played very well, as did Ross M.
Supcon, if Mehmeti played well I'm happy. With respect, I'll wait till I watch him under Struber before I pass judgement. Nevertheless it seems like a good start.
I’m with you -Twine poor, hope the manager isn’t naive enough to play Yu in that position against Sheffield Utd, need someone stronger in the tackle, personally I would play a back 3
Apart from the absolutely useless streaming on Robins Tv there wasn't much about the match to report. We will be facing better opposition next weekend and it was clear that some players need to up the ante and I would put Twine right at the top of that list and also include Armstrong because he was up to his usual class today when he couldn't get past the goalie again. Knight was a little off today but I like the first look at our new goalkeeper as he was solid in all areas including a good penalty save and Riis and the new guy from Plymouth also stood out for me in this practice warm-up game. Today may have been the last match before it all kicks off next week and I am looking forward to it so we can see what line-up will be the first choice (with the players available) and what style we will be playing away against what will be a very competitive team in Sheffield United. The proof will hopefully show up next Saturday.
THERE will ether be a lot of drawn games as at the moment I cannot see a lot of runaway scoring teams [ point wise ] .. however factoring in different transfers in /out slightly more aggressively to 9 teams who have been busy and whether attack or defence minded it looks more like a a spread of results later in the week I will do A THIRD tranche 5 aggregated bookies oddsas the final cicircum stance and maybe a 4th one after AUGUST games! CITY BTW comes out around 9th or tenth
Great spine Vitek-Atkinson-Rils good teams need a good spine we got one there. All three going to make a huge difference this coming season.
You may be correct until McNally comes back. I then believe McNally, Dickie and Atkinson as a 3 will keep Vyner on the bench. Nevertheless Vyner is very useful as back up.
For me, McNally is the standout, then there is very little between the other 3. Atkinson and Dickie are better in the air, but both are far slower than Vyner, and Dickie is comfortably the worst with the ball at his feet under pressure, even saw that yesterday in the friendly. But a good 4 CB cover, I suspect we might see a 3 CB formation a lot this season, allowing Pring and McCrorie to operate as WBs
Exciting Manchester United talent Radek Vitek produces moment of brilliance in first appearance for new loan club https://www.unitedinfocus.com/news/...liance-in-first-appearance-for-new-loan-club/
From the hi lights I saw he looked very confident, and competent at controlling his area Things we’ve been lacking between the sticks for quite a while
Max has a tendency to put his defenders under a lot of pressure by the poor control of his penalty area and subsequent distribution. There wasn't a single time on Saturday where Radek put a foot wrong in my books and he saved a penalty just to make his debut something special. I know we have only seen him play once but he looks to have learned the lessons that Max has not taken on board to improve his chances of being number #1. Max needs to be more aware of how his poor distribution affects the defenders and all the time we employ this playing from the back on goal kicks Max is susceptible to major errors but he is a decent shot stopper who needs work on his game. Welcome to the nightmare Radek.
